Honest opinion - a lot of money for a first big bike that does no more than a higher mileage one for half the price.

Otherwise, should be a decent enough bike, enjoy.

I am planning on keeping it for 3 years so its worth it IMO. Plus he is taking my YBR in px which saves the ball ache of selling it privately. Which so far has already cost me £45 for the Mcn and would have been another £30 for bike trader.

He's fitting a Meta 357 T for £250 (thats fitted)

is that worth it. I am a bit of a worrier so for piece of mind I dont mind.

Its an import from Germany. The guy who had it was in the MOD over there then brought it back with him. So it has a converter on for the KPH to MPH.

Is it ok being an import?

On Bennetts it says, "is this bike an import which cant be purchased in the uk" which the answer is no. So insurance wise I cant see it being a problem.

Insurance is £360 for me TPFT (25 female, 1 years no claims, license for 9 days hee hee)

So is it ok guys?

Thanks

Catherine

any more comments on the bike? As i have to decide tonight dude!!!

Its got the MPH converter on, shud it also need a headlight conversion?

Or will this already been done seen as its been in the UK a year and half already.

Its getting an MOT before I get it. Would this pick it up?

Purpose of an mot is to make sure it is safeto ride in the uk by a set of standards so it would probably pick it up.

If you can afford an 03 hornet, get the 03 model, rather than the pre 03 model, which that seems to be.

When did you pass your test? i thought you were still on big L plates!

Deffinitely a pre '03 model, the back end is Sharper on the newer ones.

Meta M357t V2
The Meta M357T V2 is Thatcham approved Category 1 - meeting all current insurance legislation and having a wealth of other features including 2 circuit immobilisation, flashing LED, Adjustable movement sensor, hazard flashers, internal diagnostic system (telling you if and why your alarm has been triggered in your absence) and a battery power shut down mode.

sounds ok I think its £269.99 to buy dunno what fitting would be if I didnt buy it from them. So £250 fitted is not bad

Job's a Good Un then. Wink

Has it got "Auto Arming"?

The only thing I don't like about my Datatool is the Auto Arming facility.

When you turn off the ignition the alarm will set itself after 45 secs. Problem with this is it don't give you enough time to get the bugger in the garage. You end up pushing it in backwards with the alarm sounding off at you because of the movemnet sensor. Embarassed

It doesn't auto-arm until you actually remove they key, IIRC.

Yep, that's correct Bazza.

But I have to go through the front of the house in order to unlock the garage from the inside (a little extra security Wink ).

By the time I've got through to the front it's armed itself and the old Altziemers has kicked in, and I've forgotten to dis-arm it again. Embarassed Laughing

I think bikes are usually a bit of an impulse purchase. Most of the time, if you have to agonize about it then somethings worrying you about buying it. Maybe better finding another one that you just fall in love with and just have to buy.

Unless you're an all year round commuter, courier or about to go round the world or something. In which case, fair play - ask lots of questions Smile

I am just a worrier!!!! You should see me buying other things takes me ages!

Then again, i am a woman and allowed to by law to take forever to decide everything!!!

Heee heee,

it was just the import thing that was worrying me, but on Bennetts on my quote it just said is the bike an import which cant be bought here and its not so i ticket no. With the alarm it came to £367 TPFT. I think I will buy it. I love it. Its so comfy to sit on. But it doesnt have a fuel light so how the hell do you know when to fill up?

Reserve Tap?

The fuel lights on the older Hornets were notoriously un reliable anyway, you're better off without.
