Just considering buying this for next year's rallies.

Quick Erect Tent

Carting round a 6.5 foot tall 5 man tent just isn't practical Laughing
Has anyone got one?
What do you think/have you heard about it? Wink

Doesn't look to me like it's a double skin tent - Most tents should have a liner and outersheet. Wouln't be much use in the Uk's weather as a result Wink

It definatley has a groundsheet and an inner skin... I went looking at them yesterday! I was more concerned about pack size and erection during dodgy weather! Wink

I got a cheaper version from ebay for about £20, its not bad for the money, has inner skin and groundsheet, and folds and rolls small enough for a rack.

I have one, except that it has a porch at each end.

It's fab! Thumbs Up

My mate has one exactly the same as that, but a better make.

Its a eurohike one and its great.

Big enough for what, 3 people and bike kit and its seriously warm.

Packs up nice and small too...

However my tent, which is a 2 man expedition tent is a lot bigger, and packs up to the same size... But it is a little more difficult to put up in the wind / rain.

Hmm... ok.. so Sadie... you think I should press that Buy It Now button?Laughing

The thing is... over in Raglan camping, its was priced at £145 so i'm thinking £95 is a bargain.... Thinking

I've seen a few of them around, was originally looking the pop up type but they dont actually pack down that small! Confused (considering how small they are once popped) and the price was suprisingly high.... Confused

Dont laugh, but my mate bought a tent from Aldi for £20 and it has been ideal for the festival season, 2 skin, quite big, 5 mins to erect, very waterproof. Try and see if they have them in again.

Thanks Edd, but unless it's got gadgets so that it goes up in under 5 minutes i'm not interested Laughing I always end up with spending way too much time fannying about with it and losing out on drinking time! Laughing

Better make quick-erect than a Khyam? Confused

I'm surprised.......

Loz, it looks OK for the money (best I've found that one elsewhere after a quick search is £99.95 inc postage) but be aware that that is one of the smallest ones they do IIRC and with 2 of you plus all your gear you're not going to have a whole lot of space.

On the plus side, they are VERY easy to put up, and have a good reputation for weatherproofness and reliability. if you can afford it, I would spend the extra £50 or so and get a Biker though.

You need a pop up tent!, throw it on the ground and it builds itself, will have jaws drop at bike shows. Thumbs Up

LOL I can tell you've never seen one of these in its folded-down state Dragonfly. Laughing

They fold down to a circle about a metre across usually. I would be interested to see how you would 1) fix something that shape onto your bike in the first place; and 2) ride your bike with what is effectively a fooking great sail on the back of it! Laughing

Weighing only 3.8kg with a pack size of 50cm x 68cm, the Microfast is supremely portable Laughing

i have a similar tent which is great, and my friend has one almost identical to that and it seams pritty good but for 75 quid i think its abit steap to be fair, have alook in millets or british army stores you might not find one the smae but ull find plenty that are fast to put up and for about half that price.
