Right just need a bit of help with a simple question for job applicaition for Royal Bank of Scotland.

Just need some guidance as to what to put off somebody who's worked in a customer service role.

+1 with that one. flip beat me to it.

I also remember being taught in a Business Studies college course about "The 7 P's"
Proper Planning and Presentation Prevents P1ss Poor Performance

Also be honest with your answers etc. In the event that they chase up your reference(s) you can kiss goodbye to the position if you've been "over enthusiastic" with your descriptions.

As for the customer service background, I'd suggest that you'd benefit if you're already skilled and experienced in dealing with a wide variety of customers and situations. If you've had specific customer service training, make sure you mention it, and if you can give a short example of how you successfully dealt with a particularly difficult situation, mention that too.

(Just for the record I've been working in a customer based environment for the last 10+ years, so I have a good idea of what they're likely to be looking for Wink)
