I've got some akito leathers (for a start, are these anygood?) with velcro for knee sliders, I bought some sliders but noticed when they are on they are below my knee - the top of the slider is about an inch or two below my knee, is this right or dont the leathers fit right? Confused

No that's right. They should be below the knee facing to the outside.

works on the basis that when your knee is down the slider will move up with your pants, so if your standing upright they should be a bit too low if you get what im trying to say (i dont have knee sliders but my leathers have knee protectors)

If they were 'on your knee' you would not be able to bend your leg. Which would make getting your knee down very difficult Rolling Eyes

Rather than make a new thread, i have some RST trousers with in built kneepads, would it be possible/how would i go about fititng knee sliders to 'em. They have a leather patch on the knee.
The only option i could thing was to get some velcro strips and stick or sow that onto the leather patch then get some of the velcro sliders, no the best method but the only way i can think of :S

You can buy proper knee slider velcro patches from most bike shops i think. Cost about £10 or £20 and have an adhesive glue on the back. Apparently they work quite well. Just need to make sure you put them on the right place. Thumbs Up

if they were on your knee you would look silly and probably woudln't be able to get your leathers on - try putting them on the velcro patch on the leathers.

Hey Dan,

Not sure I'd recommend attaching knee sliders to them. I've got the same bottoms, force or something like that if I recall.

The bugger with textiles is they dont fit as tight, so if you were to GYKD, the slider may move and the actually textile hit the tarmac and (a) scuff and eventually wear a hole to your leg! Or (b) (rare I should imagine) snatch at the road surface and have you off!

I'd save up for some leathers if I were you.

Oh, and I'm too much of a nancy for getting my knee down, I'd probably crash!!

PS. The slider is drawn in a downward/sideways motion!

Seems like it! he does say to put it on the velcro patch on the leathers (like I was anyway, but just checking if its in the right place!!)
