Bit of a novice question I expect but can anyone tell me what the difference is between a normal GSXR & an SRAD GSXR?

Mate of mine has a GSXR 1000 K2 & said that the normal GSXR is better than an SRAD but didnt really say why.

I've done a search but couldnt find any answers

SRAD's are the earlier models (1996 till 2000 i think).

K2 GSXR is the 2002 model, engine is more powerful (and fuel injected) and shape was changed for the k series (no more large rear end).

Have a read of this for the finer points.

The most modern of GSXR model changes

Arrow SRAD, has a big fat arse and Carbed 600 and 750

Arrow K series Y 1-3 The new breed, Fuel injection 600 750 and 1000

Arrow K Series K4-5 Newer version of the k1-3, sharper smaller faster 600 750 and 1000

Arrow K series k6-onward Slightly more revised version than before, alot smaller alot sharper, slipper clutches as standard, an awsome ride. Smile

of course there were GSXRs before the SRAD, but my knowledge of them is vague.

The SRAD's are still good bikes IMO, i rode a 600 and was really impressed with the way it handled and it wasn't slow.

I've ridden a K3 750 too and was impressed with how fast it was for a 750, but on stock settings i wasn't impressed with the handling.

SRAD 98 99 models are fuel injected. 750 definately is dont know about the rest. V4 on the forum has one and had trouble getting a replacement engine as its different to the more common srads.

The final two years of the 750 SRAD were fool-injected. All the 600 SRADs were carb'ed. It's not an official Suzuki designation btw, they're really known as V,W,X & Y models, and the sharper shaped later ones as K1, K2, etc.

That big behind might be unsightly but you can get toolkit, waterproofs, U-lock, disc lock and your lunch under there. It's like built-in hard luggage.

The original Slingshots the GSXR750RK/L/M and the 1100K/L/M/N can keep up with modern bikes and if you throw an 1100M/N engine in a 750 frame they will do a fair bit more than keep up.

as above is right

97-00 were 600's & all were carbed

96-99 were 750's & last 98 & 99 were FI

& yeah there still good & i love K1 & K2 shapes aswell as SRAD's rounded arses after that they 100% NEED undertrays too look better IMO

& SRAD =Suzuki Ram Air Direct Wink

can't fault my gsxr 600v SRAD in any way at all Very Happy

just replaced the suspension on the rear as it's nearing the 10 year old mark, much better now with a stiffer spring.

MPG is around 30mpg but I very rarely ride slowly Laughing
