I'm looking for one to feature in Bike magazine, ideally it'd be one someone's put time, effory and love into.

Something more than fruity cans and a screen, perhaps a smart paintjob, 170 rear wheel horses, sorted suspension, maybe even a turbo.

The feature is called Envy - so it needs to be a bike that you'd sell your soul for.

Any takers?

Yeah, my mates one.

360 ponies. Loudest bike in the straightliners championship, belt driven supercharger, soon to be fitting Nitrous (maybe already has) aiming for 400bhp. Reworked fairing to save weight and improve aerodynamics, rediculously long swingarm.

9.01 standing 1/4, terminals at around 165mph

My dad knows someone who bought a turbo busa kicked out 200bhp, then he got rid of it as it wasn't enough, and the other day he had bought another turbo busa that kicks out a more interesting amount or 368bhp, its got a restrictor on the boost on it too until he gets used to it.

Barking mad that blown one.

Only worth running a supercharger on race fuel though because of the octane rating needed (i looked into getting my Blackbird blown before i bought the busa)

Turbo is more user friendly.

Hi

The supercharger kits do not have a good reputation.

There are plenty of very powerful turbo 'busas around. ~600hp is realistically doable with off the shelf parts.

All the best

Keith

Nope, I know one that is road legal (ish) that was putting out 600hp (and thinking about it, at least one other). However that one has now been stripped and rebuilt, aiming for 800hp.

All the best

for the 600bhp - you'd need to seek cover from lloyds of london.
Would work out approx 2300 quid third party only. near 6k comp Shocked
for the 800bhp - you'd need to ride without insurance

Err, probably a touch high. Although being in the bike industry I suspect it is on a trade policy. Don't think turbo 'busas are too bad to get insurance on.

There was a Dutch guy at Elvington a while back who managed 265.4 (one way) on a 'busa, but that was a not street legal.

All the best

Nowhere near as much as you would expect. I paid £470 TPFT on my stock 'busa then after it was turbocharged I got quoted £930 fully-comp, with 2 yrs no-claims.
