Should they be tight fitting or have a little bit of slack? Just got some size 11's and they're a tiny bit slack on me, they don't come off my feet or anything like that but my feet can slide about half a centimetre or so backwards and forwards in the boot. Should I change them for a size 10 or have them like they are?

i was told by the nice people in miles kingsport that they should feel lke some one is holding your foot, i think the genral rue for any bike gear is to make sure it is a tight but comfy fit with out any slack.

Well, what feels like 0.5cm to me is probably more like a size too big in reality then. Will have to get them changed for a size 10 then it seems. Cheers for the advice (and quickly too!). Thumbs Up .

but if there is a little bit of slack, there better in winter as they will hold the heat.

mine are just right, can wiggle my toes freely and just and so pick my heel off the base of the shoe.

Thick socks?
I find an annoying thing with mine is when done up you can feel the zip at the bottom of trousers pressing into your leg.

Its always good to have room for some thick socks when it gets a tad chilly.

As long as you can get them to fit snugly aroound your ankle you should be fine.

I recently bought a pair of Alpinestars SMX4 which are really snug about the heel. The calf fastens with velcro and as I have big calves I had Joyda Leather in Wigan add a piece of leather and velro to the inside. iThis has made a major difference as i now can easily get my leathers inside the boot.

I bought my sidi rain evos 2 years ago, they fitted snuggly, they've covered 30 000miles, they've been to cyprus and back, they've been down the road(minor only) a few times.

All that in mind they're not too shabby on the outside but the inside lining has worn away, they're loose and give me blisters if I walk too far, still good to ride in mind.

my preference would be a snug fit but if you ride all year round you need room to have thicker socks in winter ( I have been known to ride to college with slipper socks on in January). Problem then comes in summer when you want thinner socks on and they're loose.

Or if you're a normal human being unlike myself you will have a circulatory system that can cope with english temperatures and prevent your feet going white and ice cold for the next three hours after you've gotten home after a 12 minute ride. Shocked
