My mate bought a van a few weeks ago and to cut a long story short it is a total nail !
I know that there is a web site where you can put in your reg' and it tells you if your car/van etc has been written off at some point in its history.
Anyone know the web address ?

Cheers.

Like Ste says, hpi check.

I noticed that when mots went computerised the car details sheet (vt40) had a box on it that said 'seriously damaged dvla' Y or N.
Ive since found only 2 cars to have Y in that box in all the mots ive done. And both were obviously as bent as a nine bob note. Laughing Might be worth asking the mot tester what the box says if your ever taking a car for a test. Wink

extreme3d says a cheaper way to get a hpi check is to use ebay as if you are going to list a vehicle, you pay about a tenner to do a hpi check instead of the normal amount which is about £30 i think

only cost me about £6 i think a few months back.
you go like you are gonna list the bike...but never do. you just get the check. apparently if something is wrong it isnt specific....so says:

"written off" rather than "written off category D"

but i'm not positive as mine came up clear.
