Is wearing boots over jeans a fashion no-no or is it fine? I heard someone say it looked awful once but I have no choice because my new boots are too big to get my jeans over! ("race-style" looking boots with the shin bit that sticks out). As I don't have the cash for leathers yet I'll be wearing jeans for a while. Personally I think it looks alright (maybe a bit power ranger-ish) but whats the word on the street? (y'all?). Mr. Green .

My Jeans are "loose-fit" already! The shin part really does stick out quite a lot. If i somehow did manage to get my jeans over them it would look like I had elephant-sized ankles probably! Confused .

Jeans tucked inside the boots looks wrong IMO
On the rare occasions that I've worn jeans when riding, the jeans were over my Sidi Vertigo's. It looks a bit like I've got hefty leg muscles, but at least my lower legs and feet are safe and protected.

Cut a slit up the seem of the left at the bottom, on the inside of each leg.

Works a treat Smile

Reckon you can only get away with boots on the outside with the full power ranger getup.

It obviously depends on the heght of boot.
If you have shortish ones like army/walking boots or short bike boots over is the way to go.
Longer boots especially of a motoX nature it just won't work ...

My Dad wears his boots/jeans combo like that. I do not. I don't have much fashion sense, but enough to know what looks best.

I have to say i think its a big no no. Only time boots should be over anything is when you're in leathers Mr. Green

Yeah agree over the boots looks better.....but in thinking about it having your pants tucked into the boots is probably safer due to lessening the chance of them riding up if you go for a slide feet first.

Not to mention I have from time to time went to put my foot down at a stop and managed to have the cuff of my pants snag the peg slightly.
Never caused an off yet but definately woke me up.

On that note if ya wear laced boots/shoes I'd advise tuckin them into your boot. Had a lace wrap around the pegs once and it nearly ended very badly at the next set of lights. Wont be making that mistake again.

Boot cut jeans sit nicely over your boot and are not restricting round your ankle. Nothing worse than men wearing them confort wit ones. Ankel swingers are much worse where the socks are visable.

Anyway i imagine yuo would look like a farmer if you where to wear your boots over jeans. Wink

Edit: see wave2k profile on visability of socks. Laughing

I wear jeans over boots in normal weather,

caught out in rain or if i have to walk anywhere I tuck jeans into boots so they dont get soaked and weight 3 stone heavier than when I left the house.

Do get some funny looks, but who gives a shit?

These are the boots I have...

As you can see, getting jeans over them would be a problem..
