I read Ride, Bike, 2 Wheels, MCN,Superbike.

I'm new to biking so its the only way i'll increase my knowledge.

But yes MCN's headlines are utter and I mean utter bxlxxcks.

Headline "Bikes Band!!!!!!!!!"

Turn to page 10, bikes are no longer aloud to ride off road, on a 2 mile stretch in Wales. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

MCN is just as guilty as the next newspaper for making attention grabbing headlines that may not be true. You walk past, you see some outrageous claim on the front page...And you have to buy it JUST to see what it is yes? Even though you know its probably far from the acctual truth. Yes MCN is a bit sensationalist HOWEVER theres is a certain amount of good info in it, i prefer it to reading any other sort of newspaper. I wouldent say MCN have ever written complete lies, they just hype the story to attract the readers.

I buy it quite often purely coz its something to read while on my break at work.
I think the sports section is pretty good to be honest, but alot of the news and headlines are utter shit and I get sick of how every week theres a negative headline on the front, usually about Gatso's or something.

Every time there is a sensationalist 'BIKES BANNED' headline...

On wait, every week.

Quite often, much like the daily star and all those other rubbish tabloids, there are germs of truth which are generally interesting. You just teach yourself to pick out the right bits and filter out the crap Cool

I buy it usually because Bike, Superbike or Fast bike aren't out yet, I'm bored, and want to look at the same unsold overpriced motorbikes in the classifieds as I did last week/month/year.

It's full of speed camera/limit/tax/big brother/harder to learn riding/bikes will all soon be 50cc and limited to 20mph crap, and gets a bit tiresome. All bloody doom and gloom.

Only interesting bits are on new bikes, and the occasional review.

Plus if I'm caught short it makes for a reasonable sheet of bog roll (I'm a train driver, and sometimes get stuck out in the middle of nowhere - heck, it's better than using my hand :S ). Crap seems to be attracted to the paper I find...

I buy it probably every couple of weeks, it is sensationalist, but there are some interesting things in there too. I buy most of the mags too when they come out, ride and pb being the two i'd pick up first

Whenever I'm bored at work and I'm running out of other things to read.

As long as you try and ignore MCNs point of view on the stories it's not so bad. The last one I read had a big bit about the new safety bike. All the way through it kept saying "This is brand new technology, it's no where near finished, we've got loads of work left to go" but at the end MCN said the normal "Lets get it banned now, it's dangerous, our guy nearly killed himself" etc. They'll never give it a chance, maybe in 10 years time it'll actually work, no one is trying to release it in its current state.

Rick.

Ditto. Pretty much always discard the whole sports* section, too.

Hi

Do buy it every week. Yes there are a load of sensationalist headlines (mostly stuff that I already knew about), but there are a few interesting bits, and the for sale section.

All the best

Keith

I read it in asda while the misses does the shopping, it's a load of shit but so are most of the other bike mag's. There seem to be a lot of new journalist who've got a job at a bike mag and then started to ride afterwards.
