I can't remember seeing this topic anywhere lately, and I'm not prepared to go trawling the archives to find out if it's been done before.

Last night I has very little to do at 5am and I got thinking. There are tens of million websites on the internet devoted to just plain evil people. Some we laugh at, as there isn't any other ways for the normal human mind to process the atrocities that have been done, some make us sick, and some just enthrall us, making us want to find out as much as possible about the mind of the offender.

Any one of us are capable of evil, although I would like to believe it's the norm to not commit it intentionally, a mistake or lack of judgement can result in evil acts being committed.
There are of course the extreme cases, the worst 20th century bloodspills were:

Bloodbath Top Ten

1. 2nd world war (50 million)
2. Mao Zedong's regime in China (48 million)
3. Satils regime in the soviet (20million)
4 1st world war & armenian massacres (15 million)
5. Russian civil war (8.8 million)
6. Warlar & Nationalist era in China (4 million)
7. congo - King Leopold (3 million)
8. Kaorean war (2.8 million)
2nd Indo China war (2.7 million)
10. Chinese civil war (2.5 million)

Now what I'd like to know, is who is your favourite? (for want of a better term) Why? What makes you think that they were the most evil person to live?
(No answer is right or wrong as everyone will be particularly sickened or scared -in a wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley sort of way- ity could be anyone from Hitler to Myra Hindley. Dead or alive, but they DO have to be a real person!)

Hummm there are some sick people out there, read bizarre mag very interesting. well halfl the mag is the rest is porn Rolling Eyes

Jack the Ripper is one one i dont want to meet but then he is long gone.

I like a good murder though, all the gore and trying to figure out what makes people that way.

What about lizzy bordon who killed her parents with an ax, she started of torturing animals and the likes and it has been known in cases or other murders to do the same in their childhood. Thinking

But everyone is capable of evil and good.

I visited Aushcwitz and Birkenau Concentration camps earlier in the year (where Mengele practiced), and it really does give you food for thought. It shows just how evil the Nazi regime was and how much suffering they put people through. Standing in the gas chamber, and by the ovens where millions were killed is very moving.

He was an SS doctor in Auschwitz who conducted sick and twisted experiments mostly on jewish children, especially twins, heres an excerpt from what wikipedia has to say on him:-

"Mengele's experiments were of no scientific value, including attempts to change eye color by injecting chemicals into children's eyes, various amputations of limbs and other brutal surgeries, and in at least one case, attempts to create artificially conjoined twins by sewing two young children together back-to-back, also joining the veins at their wrists. This operation was not successful and only caused the wounds to become badly infected."

These experiments were conducted on the victims with no anaesthetic whatsoever Shocked

Just google his name and have a read, he was definitely barking mad!

Yes it is ,

you meantion hitler mao et al but you also have to consider this these people were not just killers in their own right , they had people under them that actually supported and did the killing.

The fact that ruthlessness has been naturally selected over the past 40000 years makes it even worse , ie a peaceful farmer , gets butchered by the local warlord and his lackies , the peaceful farmer does not get to pass on his genes , the warlord does.

To over throw the evil warlord evil genes have to be introduced which also destroy the non evil genes

There are lots of documentaries about the holocaust, just watch the history channel. Also it was not as emotional as I thought visiting Auschwitz/Birkenau. It is very much a museum now. Thats not to say it was not emotional at all, and was very thought provoking. When you see 7 tonnes of human hair, including pony tails etc and the cloth that they are made into, it does have an effect!

Also to be considered is 'what is evil'.

For instance, someone that doesn't consider themselves evil may regularly kill insects by washing them down a plug-hole.

Yet if another person who kills people with the same ease doesn't consider the people they kill any better than insects, is their thought process in killing any more evil than the insect-killer?

What about people that order milatery attacks in the hope that they will kill a few nasty people at the cost of many innocent lives?
I wonder how many people generally considered to be evil thought they were doing it for an eventual good cause?

What about, then, the people that support these people - are these people a bit evil for not taking a stand against it?

evil isnt a trait, its a judgement

assertive or aggressive or violent might be character trait

but one persons brave is another persons evil

generally the guy who wins a war will cast himself as the good guy and the guys he beat as the bad guys.

America slaughtered millions of Japanese with nuclear weapons but there wasnt talk of taking them to war crimes trials. They saved american lives by not having to fight island by island all the way to japan.

Mengele's experiments may have been cruel and inhuman, and scientific method may have been a bit lacking sometimes but we do benefit from some of the results he obtained, for example knowledge of how the body reacts when emersed in cold water and how long it takes to die.

I think this has been useful in treating sailors out of the the water.

Arguably, if tortutring one person saves 10 lives, maybe its not evil, and is a good trade off.

Americans wont mind killing ten Iraqi civilians to hit one iraqi insurgent, and neither would Israel with palestinians.

No, far more deaths in WW2.

Largely due to the greater number of Civilian deaths.

.........................................

Can I add another vote (if that's the correct expression) for Mengele.

https://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/weird/west/index_1.html

Makes me sick when i read aboubt people like Myra Hindley & Fred West that's true evil, they raped & tortured then killed loads of children & what happens to them? They get put in a cell. How the hell is that punishment for what they did, do you really think there going to be bothered by spending the rest of there lives in a cell?

Does that really justify what they did, i can understand if it was a one off murder because then they would think about all the things they would be missing in life, but when you go on a rampage like they did you're obviously not bothered what happens to you.

Tourture everyday is the closest thing that i can think of that is real punishment. But were in the U.K so the punishment for a murderer means a cell with T.V & a prision that allows you to study for degree's.

This makes me wish there was a hell.

Go and see what Mengele did, you might change your mind.

" to investigate the most effective means of treating persons who had been severely chilled or frozen. The victims were forced to remain in a tank of ice water for up to 3 hours. Extreme rigor developed in a short time. Numerous victims died in the course of these experiments. After the survivors were severely chilled, rewarming was attempted by various means. In another series of experiments, the victims were kept naked outdoors for many hours at temperatures below freezing. The victims screamed with pain as their bodies froze."

Nice huh?
