Does anyone whos clued up on phones know of any for around 50/60 quid that are gps enabled either via a seperate gps thingy bob or built in? I think you can do it with the Nguage but it's a little ugly.

I was looking at this phone today as I really liked the looks of it as it looks so small and easy to carry about but I don't think it can have GPS added to it:

I quite fancy a flip phone but I don't need a built in phone or mp3 player, but GPS would be nice to have with the headphones plugged into it (doesn't matter about screensize).

I know nothing about phones, the one I have now is about 3/4 years old and hte one before that about 5/6 years old.

What does gprs mean? thats not the same as gps is it.

i also have an A1000, i had the 920 and 925 before.

The A1000 does come with its own GPS reciever built into the phone however its not that good and standing under a tree will oftern stop it working!

HOWEVER you can download copies of TOMTOM all over the net and they will run on this phone a treat, but you will need a seperate bluetooth reciever to get it to run. These can be found on ebay for around £30-40.

GPRS can be a life saver but it can also be a pain in the arse, its a new system which takes time to iron out the bugs! You can get free software such as NHGPS which acts like a big atlas but wont have the route planing features that tomtom or route66 have!

i would recomend the A1000 over most phones as its got a nice large screen that is very clear, something which is important when your lost trying to find some piddly lane in the middle of nowhere!

If you need any help feel free to pm me! Also check out www.3g.co.uk as theres lots of good advice on their forums!

Also you might want to check out the XDAII although its a bit more expensive!

Yes its big, but its a PDA not a phone!

Secondly, it does suffer with many "bugs" etc. most of these can be ironed out quickly by upgrading the firmware to the latest version! It also gives you the ring/vibrate together fuction!

a nokia 3230 phone with symbian operating system will run tomtom just fine.

you just need a bluetooth gps receiver and you are good to go.

they must be cheap to buy now,i got mine free a year ago.
