Free mobile phones!

This was brought to my attention by a female friend at work who ordered her Nokia 7250 from

She received her free contract phone in 2 working days with all of the details and papers needed but when she put the sim card in her phone nothing happened. A week later and still nothing so I checked it at work for her (singlepoint) and she has no account on the system which means she has got the phone for free with no hassle of paying a contract for 12 months!

I went to this website on saturday to check out their deals and found one that I could afford with a free Nokia 3650 so I ordered it this morning I received my phone and guess what NO contract!

I'm not saying you should all rush to fonetastic but you may get a free phone if you do! but do not under any circumstance blame me if you do end up stuck in a 12 month contract that you don't want but then again there is always the 14 day return period! Very Happy

They'll eventually realise their error when they see that their accounts don't add up and either ask for the phone back, activate the account or charge you for the price of the phone. Then again you never know, you just might be lucky!

Also have you checked your credit/debit card statement to see if there's been any initial charge, such a your monthly contracted fee?

I work at singlepoint they cannot charge me anything without there first being an active account which there isn't any sort of account and the girl that I know has had hers for a week now with no account I'm just hoping for the best!

What you should do is get one of your work mates to chase this up as a 14 day return. Just tell 'em that you sent the fone back and get the contract cancelled. Or just call 14 day returns yourself!

BTW - Are they still using Eppix? Or did they finally get the new system sorted?

They finally got the new system sorted (siebel) I'm quitting that hell hole pissed off with just sitting there for someone to shout at down the phone and they pissed me off they wouldn't even let me read a mag whilst there no calls!

However they do still use eppix but I have no idea how to use that its just for old customers.

MY GF's ex got here a contract phone a few months back. She dumped him and changed it over to her name. Now she wants to cancel and she was never told she had a 12 month contract. They're saying she can't cancel but what if she just stops her direct debit and writes to them to that effect?

And every contract mobile has a 12 month minimum contract with it!

I know that, but there's no evidence of her agreeing to a 12 month contract. Legally they're fooked without a tape or signature.

Yup. That wont stop them tho. They may just have a tape as well, and I know what the sales peeps are like so they possibly snuck it in there without her noticing.
