hi im a bit bored and thought id make a thread of all the bikes ive owned so here goes.

right i been riding bikes for about 4 years now but i only actually owned one for the first time in february last year i bought a 1989 yamaha dt 50 field bike off one of my mates for £50 when i got it the front brake was crap and it needed a back brake lever the seat was crap and it was a shit starter.

this is what it looked like when i got it

anyway we went to a scrap yard and got a brake lever off another bike and made it fit and welded it and i also tightened up the brakes and then they were fine but the main problem was that i had to buy a new sparkplug like everytime i went out on it to this farm we go to it smoked like hell and used to always knacker up.
we used to take a bag full of tools with us and had to push it up and down hills to try and get it to start anyway when i was fixing it up ready to sell found out the problem was the coil so got a new one then from then was a 1st kick starter i also got a new choke as it didnt have one on it Shocked weird it was missing. anyway i put it on ebay in october i think it was and it went for £160 Very Happy

this is what it looked like when i sold it

next bike i had which i bought about 2 months after i bought the 50 so i had to bikes now was a 1976 yamaha dt 175 which i got for £30 Shocked
this is what it looked like when i bought it
https://img135.imageshack.us/img135/6598/dt175sy8.jpg Laughing Embarassed

i was told that it needed a float and a pilot jet and it did they werent even there when i took it to bits Laughing bought them the float was about £20 and the tiny pilot jet was £16 Shocked got them fitted and it started up fine bit load though cause of the crap exhaust.
took it out into my uncles field for my first proper go on it and the clutch slipped like mad it was loosing a lot of speed cause of it so got new clutch plates and a cable and it was fine, took it the beach about a month later i also resprayed it in this time and was there about 10 mins when i got the bike stuck in sinking sand i didnt see it, bike sunk about half way in took ages to get out god knows why i got it out should have left it there it was a heap anyway.

this is it when i got it out and home was a lot worse when i first got it out though

about 1 month later the bike nackered up clouds of smoke coming out when you tryed to start it and backfiring and horrible noises took it to bits and low compression and nackerd piston it had seized stuck.
I got it out and the barrel needed a rebore and oversize piston got these and then found out the con rod was nackered get grooves in it so split engine replaced con road and big end bearings, main bearings all the oil seals and gaskets and a lot more new stuff near enough a new engine whish i didnt do it now though will lose out on loads of money when i sell it soon.

heres what it looks like at the moment

still needs the new piston running in though and tidying up.

right the next bike i had was a 2002 kawasaki kmx 125 field bike which i bought off ebay in august for £450 this is it when i bought it

loved it was my first crosser style bike not an old piece of crap like the others and it was so comfortable and easy to ride and a lot of fun anyway second time out on it chain flung off and snapped and the teath on the sprockets were as sharp as nails.i replaced them and i was away again it was a brilliant bike loved going out on it i bought a dep silencer and it sounded quite nice and put a load of stickers on it and it looked like this
https://img144.imageshack.us/img144/2170/sellingpictures002ly2.jpg
but a couple of months later the engine was rattling a lot and got diagnosed as piston slap so i took engine to bits and the piston was worn and the barrel was marked so managed to get a good condition barrel, head and piston off ebay for £50 fitted it and then took all the stickers sold the dep exhaust on ebay and then put standard can back on and polished it up and sold it on ebay for £520 in may and the money payed for my nsr this is it when i sold it

and the latest bike ive bought my 93 honda nsr 125 bought it as a non-runner for £170. this is it the day i bought it.

first thing i got done was the stator coil re-wired when i put it back on it made fuck all difference so i stripped it and found out it needed a new barrel and piston i managed to get one from ireland for £100 once fitted it was a perfect runner i then rubbed down all the fairings and sprayed them black with a white stripe going down the middle of the bike this is it when i finished spraying and put back together.

400 miles later bike locked up at 60 and stripped it piston nackered barrel survived it though got a new piston kit and now the new piston has done 710 miles though it has broken down a lot, but i think i have sorted the problem now as its in bits but fixed tuesday since been on the road not even 2 months yet ive done about 1100 miles and i loved it but im selling the nsr soon to get a dtr or something similar this is it now as i have bought some decals for it

Excellent read mate, keep at it, and I hope you get the NSR running nice and make some money on it when you sell it. Thumbs Up
