Hi

Not sure officially, but mine haven't been checked on an MOT in years.

All the best

Call the MOT center you are booked the vehicle in for testing.

They will let you know off the bat before you pay for a fail.

If you need the reversing lights you fix or they will fix (for a fee).

Good luck. Thumbs Up

Not even checked in the MOT test - the tester might get run over while looking!

What is tested:

https://www.e17mot.co.uk/motlist_pop.htm

(read carefully, the first part of the web page is a list of things that people THINK are tested, but in reality aren't).

They are not tested. Mr. Green I think the switch is at the front of the gearbox, just screws in with a multplug on it.

Surely reverse lights are tested, i'd of thought it was one of the first things they check along with all other lights.

Reverse lights are NOT tested on an mot.

I asked about my auto mini because the switch was trickey. There was a knack to making the light come on when put in reverse.

He said dont worry, We dont check for Reverse lights on MOT anyway.

I also had 4 None road legal Fog / spot lights on the front of my mini which wernt picked up on.

Even if they aren't tested...
Don't you WANT them working? Aren't you worried about being hit or hitting someone cos you can't see, reversing at night.

Also - not sure how you'd stand after an accident if they found yer reverse light to be defective.

Personally I'd get mine working if poss. (Just my opinion obviously)

Hmmmm,
Well my neighbour (no 6) had jsut been dropped off by a mate of hers when her neighbour (no 4) reversed straight into the side of the person who was dropping them off. Basically no4 said they werent going to pay etc etc so no6 went to the police to say that no 4 didnt have a reverse light and the police confirmed that it is not illegal to not avae a reverse light.

Hope that wasnt to confusing lol.
