what has better gains 1)standard airbox 2)an airfilter?
im thinking of getting an airfilter but cant find one to fit my 34mm carb (ill need to up-jet the carb but thats not a problem!) i just love the noise of a filter instead of the std box. also it drowns out the noise of 'a hair dryer' so to speak.

Your bike will run better and more smoothly with a standard airbox.

If you fit a pod filter and (importantly) have the bike set up to suit it, you might get a slight gain in top end power but at cost of all round rideability.

On a 125cc bike, the std airbox is always big enough, and so is the filter normally. If you want to rejet the bike to suit, you can take out the intake silencer, and or drill the airbox lid. Some machines can be improved like this, as they are sometimes resticted by the intake silencer, but normally if the airbox flows enough air for your engine, then any mods are a waste of time.
