 |
|
Just saw my bike off to the garage on the back of a trailer to be serviced and MOT'd after it has stood for over a year. The guy said a new front tyre would be £85, does this sound right? Seems steep to me. I'm dead excited though, getting my bike back on the road |

I only ever had a tyre fitted by a dealer once....and my jaw nearly hit the pavement when he told me how much!
Ever since, I have only ever used a tyre specialist, and almost always take the wheel in for fitting loose. Only exception to that rule was getting a front tyre fitted on the supermoto. Tall bike with no centre stand! They didn't charge for the fitting either Did a good job
If you do take in a loose wheel, make sure you mark the tyres direction of rotation. I have had them put on back to front before...and you DO NOT want that happening! It's actually rather dangerous since bike tyres are designed to take load in only one direction.
Find a good local tyre place for next time |
