My bike shivers / vibrates at idle .... I have cleaned carb, everything looks ok. Air screw is 2.5 turns, idle at 1500 revs. Even with choke on when I start the bike it shivers and no matter how long i keep it on choke but as soon as I turn off the choke the bike stops. I have to keep open some throttle (about 2000 rpm) and then remove choke. Air filter is also clean and no difference even when the air box is removed. I have no idea what could be the problem Crying or Very sad ... any thoughts please ? the bike is NSR125

I will check them as well ... but i don“t think that it is because of mounting bolts as the vibration dont increase with more throttle and also at high speed plus there are no strange lose noise from the bike. There is also problem keeping the bike running while removing choke

it is not exactly vibration ... you can say the engine dont run smooth at idle and there is also lots of grey smoke during first few mins of starting ... i have checked engine compression and it is 125 psi

the rattle might not be to do with engine speed more when its running eneven...harmonics and resonance cause it to rattle.

someone else will likely have other possibilities Thumbs Up

not at all, just suggesting something that could be the cause.

I will check mountings for sure but one more pointer that why I believe that it is not mountings. The rpm needle also shivers always.

when the bikes warmed up, does it still do this? (ie after youve been riding it for a mile or so)

cause mine behaves a bit like that when its very cold, but after the engines warmed up nothing at all.
