I had the oppertunity to take up a free place at mallory last friday,

I was told my license wasnt ''propper'' and the only way I could go on track was with a full uk licene or an ACU under 18's licence..

I'm 19... with a 33bhp license.

the event was with 'focused events'

Does anyone have a list of what organisers do and what organisers dont allow 33bhp'er on track?

I've emailed a few and not had any replies.. and looking at some websites which have info on them for the year 2004... I'm not hoping to get a reply anytime soon.

I thought you were older than that.

Anyway, it's only tracks owned by Motorsport vision that have problems with 33bhp licences.

HOTTRAX will happily let you on rockingham, lydden, silverstone etc.

I think it's only brands, oulton, cadwell and snetterton that won't allow restricted licences. Although focus might be a bit funny with it.

But I got onto Snetterton easily last year? Have the rules changed?

I don't think they check too hard at Snetterton as Yokogeri had no problems a few months back.

MSV circuits are a no-no. You might get on, you might get told to fuck off with no refund. Chancing it is up to you.

Companies, you need to read their websites specifically. As mentioned, Hottrax don't have a problem with it but some others might. It is stated in the terms and conditions you have to agree to when booking, or just pick up the phone and ring them if you think their site is out of date.

MSV changes came in around November/December last year.

Booo Sad

I don't understand why there should be a problem with 33bhp licences when you can take any bike on the track (in my understanding, including those with less than 33bhp)

That is true, but I think they don't want the tracks to be filled with 17 year old kids, and imposing this rule /should/ achieve a certain level of competance/maturity.

I'm sure it's probably to do with their insurance too. They also don't allow anyone under 18 on their tracks.

Because if someone had an accident with a bike over 33hp, say hitting another rider, the other rider could possibly take the company to court.
To prove you are qualified to ride your bike, you have to show your licence. If your licence has a restriction, you are only qualified to ride within those restrictions.
Thus they can't be sure you are riding a bike you are qualified to ride.

Did a no limits trackday at Mallory and they didn't even ask to see my licence (which was good as I only had my race one).

And generally a Thumbs Down to Focused Events; to much time spent trying to make money and too little thought about riding in circles.

But of your bike is restricted and you licence is what is the problem?

They would have to check your bike is restricted at a guess - far too much hassle for them.
