My current work location means I'm pretty far from a bank and I only get short lunches
and short lunches mean long queues at bank , as in how to word a letter to get somebody
fired , as said I'm in a rotten mood this week and I will step on some toes.

what has sort of pissed me off lately is that some bitch at a Bank who I specifically told
not to do anything to my account has set my account up in such a way that if I have
more than a couple £100 in my current account it sweeps it away immediately and
locks it away into a 30 day notice account , I wouldn't mind if the interest rate was
better but it is crap (about 0.6%) Where I can't get at the funds for 30 fucken
days and with money coming out via DDs means my account is left very dry almost
almost forcing me to be over drawn and it forces me to go to the bank and go through
a string of security checks to get the money out to prevent being over drawn.

I remember my exact words ,

"I don't want it , leave my account as it is I need money quickly sometimes "

If I want to save money I'll do it somewhere with more than your crap 0.02% interest
rate,

She said yes but.... its better for you

I said NO , I do NOT want it...

It'll give you more interest

Look I don't care just leave my account alone or I'll change banks,

Alright as you wish...

etc

I'm also rather tired of being treated with contempt by the staff when ever I go into the
bank, I tried to complain in person a few weeks ago , but was fobbed off after being delayed
30 minutes by the girl behind the desk by her constantly texting and then being told I have
to submit any requests in writing, and here we are...

So to summerise I want to complain , get somebody fired , get some sort of compensation
for the trouble they have caused me , and then bugger off to another bank.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You can't get her sacked anyway with just a complaint, the most she would get is a written warning unless she already has been dissaplined over the same matter. After all she was trying to help as she thought.

Its hardly worth the effort complaining, if you don't like the service hit them where it hurts and switch banks...simple. Wink

Complain to the manager of the branch I'd say, definately in writing as then you've got something that can be refered back to. Or to the FSA if you're not happy with what the manager says/does.

Getting them fired, don't really see that happening. Laughing Ask for something reasonable like for them to refund the interest you were charged for your account being overdrawn.

You should still be able to take the cash out... it normally just means that if you don't give the required notice period you won't get the (ahem) higher rate of interest!

As for complaining I agree with Ste.
Put it in writing, keep a copy for yourself and send a copy to the customer service dept.
Threaten to report them to the financial ombudsman service if the matter isn't resolved (with all unauthorised overdraft charges and interest re-credited into your account) within a set time (maybe 10 working days)
If you're still not happy with the level of customer service you receive, check out this site!

https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/

Hope this helps! Wink

Good site, But did I not already say the majority of this?
Saying that, the bt at the bottom about how to set out your letter to the branch manager/customer services dept is really helpful!
