Oh joy.
They are back. Have these people not driven for the last six weeks or what ?
If i see a 4x4 with a very small child hidden somewhere in its cavernous interior i tend to give it a very wide berth. Awful driving, no mirror checks, random wild changes of direction and an annoying habit of pulling out of side roads in front of you, even while you are making eye contact with them.
Grrrrrr.......... Twisted Evil

No tomorow will be when the havoc realy starts...

College starts back tomorow, so not only do you have the old women with the 4x4's on the school run, you get the chavs in their clio's storming it about at rush hour, thinking their the next best thing, with their spinning wheel caps and stupid music Rolling Eyes

And? so what they just make filtering MORE fun , nothing quite like a 4x4 mother 10 minutes
late dead wound up and you just sail by through the gaps or be nasty and slap their windows
if you feel the need to this makes many ape shit.

watch out for BMWs and utter nuts though since sometimes they come down empty bus
lanes (incuring a £85 fine but they can afford ir) to try knock you off , testosterone might
make me see red , but must kill biker tunnel vision is much worse,

Also 4x4s following you through (when you filter in the opposite lane).

I think next week will be alot of fun.

Byracers are pretty good drivers on the whole. Fast and risk taking they may be (but then so are we Wink ) they are at least thinking about what they are doing and their observation is pretty good.

A lot of them are pretty cool, as well, and actually care about keeping their cars in good shape.

There's always a few bad apples though ain't there?

Tap my window and you're in trouble itchy Wink

Yes you can your child will be the coolest child in school , his mum picks him up on an R6 instant most popular kid in school
does wonders for confidence, and might give him some of the right stuff in life.

I don't tap on everybody's windows , only if they almost kill me ,

Had to drop Mrs. K. off to work this morning what with the car dying, got back home, picked up work stuff then rode the 700 yards to the office. (Lazy I know Smile ). got 400 yards, went past the school, had two cars try to pull out at the same time from the same sideroad they had been blocking as I came past. Another morning toot on the horn... Smile.

K.

P.S. Anyone want a 2000 laguna to brake for spares? it's fine bar the engine Smile. Even got new tyres, disks and pads on it... Smile

Thought that there was bit of an increase in poo drivers recently......

I've usually made it to the middle of the city when most of the school runners are out but definately noticing them.

As for the knocking on windows, yeah I think we're too polite. I only knock when I'm just about to be forced into a central reservation/traffic light/oncoming traffic because Lorraine is too busy wiping the remains of little Johnnies pop tart from his face, whilst answering her mobile, whilst re-appyling her mascara whilst screaming at Rover in the back and trying to straighten her bra so that she can impress Johnnies new PE teacher.

I'd much rather kick in her door but you can sort of sympathise with the fact that she has so much going on, and all I'm thinking about is catching up with that guy on the blackbird infront of me.

I know seen them on their mass convoys this morning adding a full 15 mins to my journey...Got to love those yummy mummies though, sitting there in their small cars when I can clearly see the whole of their cleavage, so no I dont mind them too much but the 4x4s are a pain in the ass due to them sitting 1 ich from the markers in the centre of the road.

Bring on the big boobs! Very Happy

Had an experience with one thismorning and one last week:

This morning, saw her a mile off, big silver people carrier, tinted windows, one child, the type that cares about herself and her kid, no one else. Indicating to turn right (cutting across my lane to do so). I was indicating to go the same way, so i had right of way. She started to pull across my lane as i was slowing down (both because i was about to take the corner and i KNEW she was going to do it). As she confirms my fears by starting to pull out infront of me i anchor it and she eventually see's me halfway across my lane, then scowls at ME and makes an angry motion for me to get in. I just shook my head and carried on.

Last week. Coming up to a T junction, seperates into two lanes of traffic, i know the timing of the lights fairly well so i filter up as far as i can and stop before the traffic starts moving (plus we're going round a corner). I stop just infront of a Mercedes driver with his family onboard (im in the left lane of the two lanes, infront of him to his right). Just as the traffic starts moving again he does his best to get past me on the inside?! I had to drop back behind him to avoid getting pushed into the other lane, didnt have time to do anything to his car because i was trying to stay alive, but he got the wanker hand gesture.

Ive only been riding 10 months now but im getting to the end of my rope with some of these people, its rediculous.

Just had a taxi pull out across the front of me out of a side road, I gave him two toots of the horn and he stops dead in the centre of the road blocking me, then scowls and waves his hands in a "What's your problem?" gesture. So I give him one long blast on the horn right by his open window and the "You almost killed me" stare...

Looked at me as if it was my fault that he hadn't paid attention... . Bloody stupid drivers....

K.

If you're going to push to the front of the queue you need to be on the ball to sprint away before anyone else starts moving.
You should have got yourself more directly in front of him.

You do realise that's what every kid would say if their parents had a 4x4?

Very true, however i didnt fancy filtering round the outside of traffic on a corner, he left no room between him and the car infront and my Rx50 isnt exactly a rocketship Laughing
