Sean! Oh dear!

The only other possibility is that you were not in complete control of the bike having only just passed your test and overestimated the amount of throttle needed to get the bike moving...

Sad

You learnt the lesson the hard way.

That is, ride how you want to and how you see fit. We all try to 'copy' others at times and you've went and got caught doing something silly.

Take it on the chin. Can't do the time, don't do the crime. Tut Tut

Don't tell him then. I'm sure you can figure out a way to hide it from him.

Just don't use the bike. If you do lose your license and don't get a ban, you can re-apply for it and then re-do your cbt, theory and test.

Get saving.

Depends when you go to court. But once you've been given your 'punishment' and it's only a revoke, yes, you can re-apply the same day. But you'll have to go through:

getting the form
filling it out
sending it off
waiting for dvla to give you your provisional
then you can go book your cbt and theory (waiting times can be over 3 weeks)
then once you pass them both, book a test which again can take 3-6 weeks depending on your area.

Takes time. And your insurance might go up.

Just wait and see what you get through the post before you worry to much and don't ride like a tosser in the future.

I doubt you'll lose your licence. Not having it back from the dvla is fine, by law you are licenced to ride it from the time the examiner signs your pass certificate.

Even if it did go to court just stand there looking all sorry for yourself, tell them you just got your licence and got a bit carried away. You realise riding a bike a big responsibility and you shouldn't have gotten caught up in the mob mentality and you'll more then likely walk away scott free. I've been let off for much worse. Most of the time all they really want to see is remorse and a lesson learned.

I don't reckon that warrants an instant disqualification. As SpannerMonkey says - if it goes to court and you show regret at your actions you just might get away with it.

3 points and a fine is plausible, for driving without due care and attention. You'll lose your licence if you get 6 points in the first 2 years, so if they hit you with this then just be careful from now on.

It may well be that the cops just want to put the wind up you. Show up at the cop shop with a full set of documentation and everything in order, and you may well just walk out of there with a slapped wrist.

But whatever happens - learn from this.

If he wasn't in uniform or in a marked vehicle then he shouldn't be stopping you anyway!!!!

He needs to be in uniform to stop you.

Hope it helps

I think if anything does come of this you need to stress that the bike is very new to you, you are still getting used to the power/handling and that is one of the main reasons you were using a carpark late at night so you weren't endangering anyone on the road.
