A few pictures of the new steed. Covered about 1200 miles on it since I got it two weeks ago which must be a record. It has about 21k on the clocks and has lots of extras including:

*Carbon style Hugger
*Fender extender
*New throttle cables
*Chrome covers
*New brake pads
*New tyres
*Mini Indicators
*Dark screen
*Aftermarket undertray (Thumbs Down)
*Small Plate
*New rear shock (Other was shagged)
*Ohlins fork internals
*R&G crash bungs
*Toolkit under the seat
*Aftermarket Fuel can with E-Marked baffle (Not in use Twisted Evil)
*Aftermarket Air Filter
*Tank risers
*Spare panels

All it needed was a little clean and a few bits and bobs and it is good as new. It has Renthal chain and sprockets which was a nice bonus. Also needs the spare bits putting on, done the shock and cables but I am having trouble with the pads and after that is done the Ohlins internals will be going in. Planning to decimate the absolutely huge chicken strips and maybe get a trackday in later in the year or maybe next year.

It's a really nice ride compared to the ER-5, you hardly have to lean and it's all the way down there, and the torque is amazing. Pulls wheelies off the throttle (Cheers G) and sounds amazing, the insurance was only £50 to swap over which is £420 tpft with 1 NCB at 17, which I think is pretty good.

Anyway I'll shutup now, picture time. Mr. Green

Oh yeah it has a few scrapes and scratches but will soon be recieving a full respray so don't worry about those, I don't.

By the way, thanks to Greg (Instigator) for pointing it out to me and also Tom for convincing me to get an SV650s. They are amazing. Very Happy

Thumbs Up Smile

Yeah I thought so too, from when I got onto the motorway on it and it has no hassle getting to and sitting at 70mph, and dare I say it I enjoy riding it at low speeds!

Partially because it is a V-Twizzle which I have now fallen in love with, I think it was a good choice and I would basically recommend this bike to anybody. Thumbs Up

Thanks man, and yes V-Twizzers are the best, I admit to you having a big part in the bike I chose as my next one. Hoping to sell it in about 2 years with 40k + on the clocks Very Happy

And the car probably cost a load more to insure Smile - quite a few on here have had 600cc+ sports bikes at 17-18, while the SV is a lot easier to insure thanks to it's status as, ah, not a sports bike Smile.

Have got most of a 'how to wheelie a sv650 from the basics' guide sorted now Smile.

Getting a 600cc bike at 17 is really easy. Insurance on a Bandit at 17 for me was only £307 TPFT.

you live in the southwest one of the safest areas in the country , while I live and always (except for a few months in the SW) gang banger city where chavs rule the streets when it gets dark and stepping outside the house without a SWAT team means death.

I was going to give you a shoutout but you wanted me to get a pointy Razz

You can clean it all you want, I was planning on coming up because I need a few things doing to it and you and Tom know what you are doing more than me.

Rookie you are right the fork legs are badly pitted but I've heard of a few ways to solve this that I may employ soon. My subframe has also rusted so I'm going to take all the back end off and sand and spray to get it upto a nice black colour, I think hammerite will do nicely.

As people of said it's easy to get insured on a 650 at 17 these days, just takes abit of knowhow and finding the best company is a must. My company are great, even though I have told a few white lies Very Happy Bennetts offered me it for £370 for the whole year but I thought it's worth getting my 2nd NCB before cancelling the policy.

Anyway yeah I might post progress pictures of me getting it upto good condition, just a lick of paint, paraffin and elbow grease will have it looking spankers. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Plan was to have a play with a few others a week on Sunday, dunno if that's still happening. However if it's nice, I'll probably still up for going for a play.

Will stick the finised artical up on here when it's done.
