Introducing residents parking charges but specifically making councillors exempt.

it some areas tbh it is needed,i know of streets of terraced houses near me,with cars parked bumper to bumper down either side of the road.....if a fire engine ever needed to get down it wouldnt.

some roads like this were not built to cope with this many cars and i know there is no easy solution

That won't stop a fire engine matey....i've actually witnessed a fire engine drive down a street lined with cars on either side wipe off 90% of the the wing mirros to get through. Turns out it was all because of a chip pan fire Razz

certainly never said i agreed with councillors being exempt,besides how many councillors do you know that park on the road?

most are loaded enough to have a drive way.

I think the idea is that councillors will be about to park anywhere, ie by the shops or their friends houses, as they go about their 'council business'.

It's basically another way of wringing some perks out of the job. They feel like baby MPs, so they want a little piece of the gravy train.
