cos the cable comes from the device to your (for example) right ear then the longer lead goes round the back of your neck to the other ear Thumbs Up

It's a crap idea. People just look like mongs with their headphones around their necks. They look like mongs however they wear them though.

Why? It means if one falls out of your ear (which happens quite regularly if you're walking/running) the earpiece doesn't end up dangling around your knees, instead it is still nice and safe around your neck.

Plus there's the added ability of being able to stick it up your jumper at work and remove said headphones from ears and not have to rifle around to find them for reinsertion.

When they first became popular I remember sitting in an airport waiting room watching a middle aged women getting irate trying to figure this one out. After 5mins of faffing she deduced the longer cable went over and rested on top of her head. Very Happy

Not laughed that hard in ages.
