I was tempted by one of those, myself, once upon a time. But it turns out that its passenger and luggage space is no better than my bike.

Its my sisters 106 Quiksilver. And I paid a bit more than 3k for it... It is an 'S' Reg UK car.

It does have a years warranty and only 70k on the clocks. It may not be worth the amount I paid for it now though, because I had a bit of a mishap the other day in the wet.

the alloys on the right hand side now have huge great kerbing marks on them where the car went sideways into a kerb. You might be able to see them on the pics actually...

I definately need new (and stickier) rear tyres! Embarassed

I steered into the skid as hard as I could, which was fine... I avoided the traffic island in the middle of the road. However, the car then snapped into an opposite skid. I just managed to get enough opposite lock on to stop me from hitting the kerb diagonally, and I just glanced it with the front wheel. Was still hard enough to take a chunk out of my rear wheel too though!

The handling on the MR-2, especially in that generation, is known for being truck like. The motor is good for 600hp though, I spent many an afternoon under my mates' 512 rwhp Mr-2, though that cost him upwards of 30k (though that included 2 engines).

Incidentally that also swapped ends very easily, despite having extensive handling reworking.

That's the MR2 Roadster. Confused

Nice car though. Wouldn't mind one myself at some stage but think I'd have to go for a turbo. Can be quite tail happy if you push it as I see you found the hard way!

tss. After all that advice you still went for the model with the worst power to weight and you still can't control it.

Is pretty though.

I meant to tell you, MR2s are lethal in the wet, but I guess you've learnt that now.

Wishing you'd gone for the turbo model yet? I've been reading about putting a mk2 turbo engine or the 3l V6 from a camry in the back of my mk1...

Go figure! Wink

Mine didn't exactly feel like it wanted to swap ends, more that it was trying to flick the engine into the nearest gutter!

It does go round corners in the dry though!!

Apparently the latest Yokohama tyres are called R088.

Mine are R022's. Thats how old and poo they are...

Tempted by either some Toyo Proxes T1R's or some Falken ZE512's.

The Falkens are miles cheaper, and nearly as good in the dry, and pretty damn good in the wet apparently.

Incidentally, anyone know how easy it is to knock out the steering geometry on one of these... Wink

I know you didn't mean that and it's just the wording, cos being mid engined it would be like the engine trying to flick itself into the gutter if it was trying to swap ends. Do you mean it just washed out towards the kerb?

How much more? Confused the aformentioned monster Mr2 was sold for £6600 with a full veilside kit and a spare motor. It was also about 150 kilos lighter than stock.

I always prefered the MK1 myself, though I have a thing for rusty old cars. Snap oversteer doesn't sound like much fun, I don't think they were designed to handle safely which is nice if you can exploit it, it'll keep you on your toes Laughing

I prefer the Pontiac Fiero to be honest, they weighed about 1170 kilos, and had a large v6 in the back. Most have been converted to a 3.8 litre supercharged v6 by now, or feature transverse mounted 350 V8 motors. It was also less bulbous looking than the second gen 'merde', the first gen was a dead ringer for the first gen toyota though...

Check the third car along for the first gen.
