It's been catching up with me for a while as I've been being a bit lazy about wearing earplugs. My AGV V-Flyer is comfy and well built but far too noisy. I've been getting tinnitus lately even from just pootling about in town with speeds not over 50. Confused

Can anyone recommend a particularly quiet helmet for under £150? I imagine it might just be a case of going into Heine Gericke and asking for just such a thing, but there's no way to tell while you're in the shop just how good they are...

I have found Shoeis to be very quiet. Cool

Quietest helmet I've owned is a roof R010, quieter than my old shoei XR800 by miles anyway and quieter than my axo RR5

I know it's a long shot, but might I suggest getting "un-lazy" about wearing earplugs?

It's a crazy idea, but it might just work...

You know, you might just be onto something.. Smile

Putting them in for five minute trips across town gets tedious, but then and again my hearing is somewhat more important than that. I'd just like a quiet helmet to begin with.

FFS wear earplugs, even with a quiet helmet you should wear them. I have a Arai RX7RR and its unbearable without them.
They only take seconds to put in, if not you are doing it wrong or have the wrong type. You don't need a new quieter helmet just decent plugs.

You may already be too late, as the damage is done, so start using them NOW! Wink

I know the whole of this post just points to the obvious - wear earplugs, but I would like a quieter helmet anyway. I normally do wear them, but sometimes it's just a bit easy to forget/ not think about it.

Go get a Shoei which is compatible with the Whispa Strip , sure Motrax do one for £10 and it does work , with ear plugs you hear nothing , doesn't stay in place long though came off 3 times during a 200 mile motorway run and I couldn't put it back while moving

Its your hearing your destroying, perhaps the constant ringing for the rest of your life will help you remember.

Roof RO10. Very quiet helmet. Very comfy, but for some a restricted visor size. ie Lifesavers need that extra bit of neck rotation.

if your just going around at less than 50 and need a lid for less than £150, i've been using a caberg V2 for some time and at lowish speeds have no problem with deafening wind noise.

less than £100 too Thumbs Up

Roof helmets are the quietest lids around-just check all the bike mags. quality lids as well Thumbs Up
the rx7rr is a race helmet finglonga, and so windnoise isn't really an issue. the only helmets louder than yours are the OGK's!

I have had tinnitus for a long, long time and trust me, its nasty. Mine was not caused by motorbikes, but riding to does aggravqate it.

Dont end up like me.......I cant stress how important it is, Thumbs Up please look after your hearing.

Hi

No helmet is really that quiet. If the earplugs are too much hassle then try some moulded ones.

All the best
