I would have like to say it was a new R1 but no.... its a new puppy!!! Labrador Retriever Pup, 8 weeks old and has his vaccinations tomorrow (thurs) Cool

i wanted to go on my bike the other day too being as the weather was fine - this little chap stopped me!!! had to look after him

My Dad has a Golden one, he didn't calm down until he was about 18 mths old.

He's lovely and docile now though.

that pic was taken after he had chewed up my arm, licked my head to bits and ripped my ears to shreds!!!! still very funny though!!! oh and he keeps going for my toes while i walk to the kitchen, with or without socks on!!! Laughing

My friends parents are bringing up a Golden Retriever pup to become a guide dog. They are only having her for one year, but she's a right little mare! Likes my trainers for some reason! Laughing

labrador puppies FTW...

the breeder my Mum and Dad got their pup from last year has just had two litters totalling EIGHTEEN puppies. Shocked

Labs are excellent dogs, I had one up until 2yrs ago and we had 14yrs of fun with him around.

When I finally get another dog it will probably be a lab, you can't go wrong.

Have you got him plenty of chewing toys? I fancy that could be what the stones are for. (in his puppy mind)

Really good ones are the nylon teething bones for puppies... virtually indestructable, don't break off in lumps and good for George's teeth, and jaws, and your furniture, shoes, etc!
Chav still has at least two in every room as he's still (at a year old)going through his chewing phase! (There again has anyone ever heard of a staffie that doesn't chew?) and he can completely demolish (into tiny little shreds - Really!) a solidly pumped up basketball in under 30 minutes!

I know chav used to have multicoloured sh1t from all the bits he used to eat... Basically if anything was on the floor it was his by rights!
My sister's golden retriever chewed a two inch track of carpet right around her (double sized) living room carpet! (oh how I chuckled because when Josh chewed a small patch out of mine one weekend when I was dog sitting, her husband laughed and said ahhh well!)

I love puppies, they're so funny to watch! Especially when they encounter new things for the first time!

GOD - its fucking tiring work this dog thing!!!

i would probably be better looking after a baby!!!

we have got a cage for him as recommended by quite a few people!! he is good now - he whined for 20 mins the first night he was in it but the next night and onwards he has been fine!!!

he has got a rubber ring to chew on, a twisted rope pull, some teething keys and best of all - a plastic bottle!!!!

its hilarious watching him with the bottle - i will see if i can get a video posted of him with it!!!

I have 2 Labs, one gold, one black..
Had 4 in total, we had 3 as pups and 1 at 14 months.....

They don't calm down until they are about.........ooh....errrr.... 7 yrs ish.
My black one is a nutter, as soon as she gets near water she goes mental.
Make sure you keep his weight spot on or he'll suffer bad joints.
