Went back up north at the weekend on the bike and I noticed a couple of things while there.
The first is the fact that not 1 biker nodded at me while at home! Not one!
Now I don't know if thats because bikes ain't that common and they only rarely come out when the rain stops (which is rare on the north east coast), or if it is all to do with the fact they are all ignorant
The second thing I noticed was the amount of scooters that fancied their chances in a race!? Now what was all that about!
Came to a set of lights and all I hear is the high tin of a scooter pull up, I think I ain't gona look at him, but then he starts revving this thing. So I look over at him, laugh a fair old amount and shake my head. Lights go yellow and he's off with a whine thats similar to that a choir boys makes his first time in the vestry!
So I pull up along side him and sit there looking at him (he must be flat out at about 30 at this point with his chin resting on the bars ), shake my head again and then blat off into the distance.
But why do these kids on scooters think they are quick?! am I missing something
anyway just thought I'd have a rant ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

i think its the 17 year old syndrome mate If it wasnt a kid on a scooter it'd be a kid in a nova....... Whenever im out in the car theres always some moron in a 1.2 nova shed revving up at the lights. I think it just makes them feel big? Same with mopeds, they know they're not going to beat anything the other side of a pushbike, but they still like to think they look good. Shame really, becuase we all know they look stupid. (not all people on scooters and nova drivers, im referring to the 'typical' nova boy who has bits of plastic and park benches sellotaped to his roof to look like spoilers).
There is one at the end of my road which makes me laugh every morning.... Its been sprayed by hand (looks blotchy matt silver) with spraycans, has this great big biplane type wing on his roof which looks like a bookshelf, and a 'intake' on his bonnet which looks like a biscuit tin, and at each corner there is a bit of silver gaffer tape to hold it down. All the windows have been home tinted with that crappy window film, as its all bubbly and cracked. The guy is out there 24/7 with it with the stereo farting away and his mate on his 'ped, looks like the sort of bloke who spends most of his life in the doll office and standing outside the local shops. Quite amusing.
Dont know why you never got any nods though |

I don't think, they think they are quick more along the lines of getting carried away with their new toy. round my way the little bastards will give me a race and cut me up at the same time, the little shits. but honestly I dont mind as i find its just part of the fun and i just think to myself their gonna be future bikers and there just looking up to me. ____________________ Dean Stone #777
