Depends on how many of us are going really. How many were at BdB last year? We fit into one with other stuff going into another.

If its anything like last year, and "the fight for land" that took place with all the other people when we arrived, i think any more than 3 gazebos would be very difficult.

'Claiming' enough space to accomodate 10-ish bikes, 10-ish tents,
3 gazebos, would be a challenge in itself
.....and then maintaining our 'land claim' as we 'try' to put up all the tents/gazebos, could be a bit of a battle Confused

So i say: 3 max, possibly 4 Confused

...arrhh.... and...bagsie not doing the 'building' Very Happy

Just need to get there reasonably early (like thats going to happen Razz ) with said gazebos and enough bikes and tents to take up lots of room Very Happy

Was there much of a problem with stuff being nicked from tents last year at rnb or bdb?

Believe it or not, we did actually get there 1 hour before they opened the gates for BDB. There was still a big bum fight though! Confused

RnB is cool, nobody nicks anything, nobody wants to get on the bad side of the Outlaws, could be a life changing decision to steal someone's phone so to speak.

I think that if we get there reasonably early we will be able to plonk stuff on the floor where it's gonna be set up then build it all as soon as possible. If we do this nobody will try and move the stuff, and if they do we tell them to feck awf Very Happy

Tactics that will require military precision. Unless of course we can grab a patch of field in a far corner or something away from the incoming masses. Its going to be impossible/impractical for all of us to turn up at the same time, but if we can arrange it so that we all turn up at a very similar time at least we may be able to get 'lots' of space for tents/gazebos/bikes/volvos.
Unless the earliest people stand around and wait for as many people as possible to turn up before grabbing any space. Confused

Okay, confused myself now....there is gonna be no chance of us getting enough room Razz

If we can get the Gazebos there first then we can probably 'mark out' territory with them to some degree. More possible at RnB than BdB though.

The Gazebos would serve different purposes at each of the festivals - at RnB they would be useful for the shade, whereas at BDB they'd be useful to protect us from the rain Confused Laughing

Need to sort some other way of getting out of the rain too since last year the dry bit turned into the wet/muddy bit pretty fast Confused

Nice one. Now you've said that it's bound to piss it down at RnB now Confused

I can borrow a pretty large tent if need be.
It'll need a car to go in though

Wouldn't it be easier to mark out the camping area by bringing some mini wooden poles and then fencing off the whole area with that plastic green mesh stuff that's about a metre tall? It's relatively cheap and you can get it from any garden center.

If past experience is anything to go by (well, from last year anyway), then unless we've got a lot of kit to actually fill up an area, they don't really like us to "reserve" space Confused Anna managed to just about blag us a fairly sufficient space last time, but there was only about 10 of us to accomodate then.

So we basically need enough kit to fill the area we need and get it there early. Especially tents etc.

The way that the camping area is laid out for RnB is quite different to that of BDB. It's much more organised (and better) IMO.

Basically, instead of having "blocks" of camping space, there are loads of rows, and more importantly - cars are allowed to park in the area. It would be an idea to nab two areas that face each other (but separated by the path/road), rather than one long row.

Get some barbed wire and fence off a massive section. Then make a few boards that say "DANGER! Mine Field - Do Not Cross". Problem solved Smile

We can always just get Zak to "distract" the Outlaws by getting him to shout abuse at Harley owners...we can then reserve a nice patch of land whilst they're pummeling him in Very Happy

Keeping an area shouldn't be too hard this year, as we have a roll of Police cordon tape (unfortunately it's plain white), so we can section an area off. People always do it at the R&B, we just need to do it at a decent time on the Thursday.
