Hi all - not a member long, but just thought I'd stick in some pics of my latest bike. It's been a few years since I've been properly on the road (lack of money for wheels, being diagnosed with MS and not sure if I'd be able to bike again) but all's turned out well and I'm back, fighting fit again! Thumbs Up

My first bike (in 1998) was an NSR 125 RR and I loved it to bits, but boy was it trouble!! After numerous engine rebuilds, I decided it was time to let it go! Sad I then adopted a GSXR 750, that was about to be scrapped, as a type of project, as I had just started a mechanics course and wanted something to work on! Got it running, but could never get it road legal, so decided to buy something I could get around on!

My CBR 400 tri-arm.

When I first saw it, I really wasn't sure about the colour, and to be honest, I'm still not! I'm seriously considering a respray, but at the same time there's something about it I love, if that makes any sense? Confused

So, I bought it and it was great - for about a week - then one morning I went out to start it and it just turned over and over, but refused to start! Mad Right, time to put the bit I'd learned into practice! I checked over everything I could think of - from the most obvious - was the kill switch on or off, had it juice - to checking the battery and the HT coils, leads and spark plugs! All those were fine! Seriously unimpressed now, I sat wondering what it could be and then referred to good old Mr Haynes! I finally narrowed it down to dodgy pick-up coils, managed to get myself a cheap second-hand set - put them in and BINGO!!

While I had been wondering what the problem could be, I had rang the previous owner to see if he could shed any light on it, but he told me that it had never had any problems for him (now there's a surprise!) but he did tell me that he had added that engine enhancement rubbish to the oil to make it go quicker!!! AAAAAAARRGGGHHHH!! Evil or Very Mad So an immediate oil and oil fiter change was done - and the oil was disgusting!!! Pure black! I also changed the battery as it wasn't great!

When I bought it, the fairings weren't on it, so myself and himself had to put them on - such a nightmare of a job as they aren't the original fairings either! And it didn't have any front indicators - so I wired those ones into the front air intakes on the fairings (it has no air intakes on it!! Rolling Eyes ) The only other problems were a dodgy rear tyre valve - replaced that, and sticky brakes. Got them nearly sorted, they're still sticking a bit, but not as bad!

PHEW!! So that's me and my machine! Very Happy

I went out to the bike one day at work to go home and found two bananas hanging from the handlebars!! Rolling Eyes Laughing

Hey dude,

Nice bike! Personally i quite like the yellow, but i can see why your dubious, it is a little "in yer face" but then on the other hand thats what makes it nice!

I agree with the others too - yellow wheels and black number-boards would make it look great!

Hi Jo! I have to admit, the yellow is slowly growing on me - I look at it sometimes and I think it's bloody gorgeous - then other times I hate it - lol!! It's very much a love/hate relationship at the moment with all the trouble it gave me initially, but we're slowly getting fonder of each other!! Laughing
