I just got my licence back from the DVLA after passing my full test on a 125(I'm 19)

On the paper part, It has in the provisional column

Category A,B,F all from 03/08/05 and nothing else.

I don't understand what this means that date means nothing to me, I passed my test on 11/09/06 and my CBT on 10/09/05

Does that mean that legally, 2 years after 03/08/05 I can remove my restrictor?

What date did you apply for your provisional ? Have you passd your car test or on L's ?

Combinations of towing vehicles in category B and a trailer, where the MAM of the combination does not exceed 3500kg and the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle

F = Agricultural tractors Laughing

I can only assume that you sent for your provisional on 03/08/05 and the B part says that you can drive a car on L's.

but A is dated from 03/08/05 I passed my test on 11/09/06. It also is in the provisional entitlement section.

No I understand what your asking.

On the paper part it still shows A, even though you passed your test.

The reason for this, is that at 21 you would still be a learner on bikes greather 33bhp if you were still within 2 years of passing your test.

After the 2 years, then you could ride anything.

To make it more understandable, if I passed my test on a 125cc and I was 25, I could ride a 33bhp bike. However my paper card would show provisional for A (bike), because if I wanted to I could still do the big bike test within the 2 years and ride any bike.

The date shown on your paper card, was the date you first applied for your provisional license.

That reminds me; I need to register my DAS pass with DVLA and upgrade my licence. Passed the test 18 months ago but have been waiting for 3 points to run off so I can get a clean licence back. Do I have to pay to upgrade or is it a free service?

The paper part isn't your licence, and doesn't show your entitlements. If you look at the plastic card, you'll probably find "A1" as the category, which is the restricted one.

Either that, or it'll show "A" with an endorsement code.

The paper bit is the counterpart, and has your provisional entitlements and any motoring convictions you've collected - which is why you need to show both bits when hiring a car etc.
