Why is it I do 10,000 miles on a CG free from tyre trouble, then get a bike with a BT45 on the back and get a nail in it within 300 miles?

What are my options? My pressure was 5/6PSI this morning.

Easy plug repair. The closer the middle of the thread the better for plugs.

Foud a nail in my rear tyre too this morning. The tyre is just about on the wear bars so I'm leaving it in 'till the weekend then it's having the tyre replaced.

Completely the opposite I'm afraid Killa.

They're the best holes to have as they're the easiest for a garage to plug.

Take it to a garage place, they'll take the tyre off your wheel, plug it, then refit it.

Will cost you in the region of £15 (depending on what they charge for tyre fitting).

I agree, It tends to be the closer to the edge the puncture is the less likely they are to repair it.

Yeah that looks pretty clean and not too big a nail. Would have thought they'd repair no problem.

I've don't track days on repaired tyres and never had an issue.

Does annoy me a bit though, builders with open back trucks seem content to leave a complement of plaster board nails bouncing round in the back 90% of the time. Rolling Eyes

Come on ladies, calm down.
That or handbags at dawn, and let us take pictures..

I feel your pain.. But at least you got some mileage out of the tire.. I had my rear changed once, went for a ride the next day, and within 22hours, and about 30/40miles of getting the new tire, it had a nail in it.
Glad you got it sorted ^_^

Yup hes right , once on my old 600 hit a glass thing I didn't see it as I was following a bus closely, and ruined a tyre 3 miles after it was used , but then it was a part worn tyre.

defend your tyres! , don;t filter too extreme and ie right next to traffic islands, traffic lights etc / gutter, and ride in the space wheels are on cars , that should clear up some of the mess.

there was this guy on BCF once who had tyres with magnets in them busted more tyres than sickpup goes through in a decade.

Avon used to do a deal where if you picked up a puncture with less than 1mm wear on the tyre they would replace the tyre for free, except you paid the fitting charge.

Good deal I say, I wonder if it's still true?

Yeah well I know that now.

I was actually going to tell you to stop being a cunt, when I realised I was one myself.

Hah.
