I sent a Ebay parcel off on Wednesday. Recorded.
I forgot the address so rang home for mum to read it out.
Hell, she must be blind!
The address I put was

**** Lonond Drive
North Lanarkshire
NL2 OUU

I get home, the address is *** Lomand drive, North Lanarkshire., ML2 OJU

Now, would they go figure that N/Lanks is ML2, or tho I put NL2.

Been checking and its not been signed for. Also put my Address from the sender.

How good will the PO be Confused

What are the chances of it getting there Sad

Oh dear, you did make a fair few mistakes there, didn't you.

They'll usually try and match the postcode first.
If there's an area that actually has NL as a postcode, it'll probably roam around there for a week or so.

If there isn't, and so long as a reasonably intelligent postman reads the actual area and street address, they often put two and two together and come up with the conclusion that your writing was so bad (or your typing so dodgy) that Lonond was supposed to be Lomand.

Lets hope for your sake that THEY haven't started employing brainless Brazilians and Poles for cheap as well, though, eh.

Otherwise, you'll probably get it back if you've put your own address on properly, and at least then you can correct the errors.

And one very frustrated punter from Ebay as well.

It should have been addressed:

xx Lomond Drive
WISHAW
ML2 0JU

If you'd got the street wrong but the postcode right, you'd be OK.

If you'd got the street right and the postcode wrong, you'd be OK.

If you'd got both the street and the postcode wrong, but had put the name of the town (WISHAW) on there as well as the county, you'd probably have been OK.

As it is, I guess it's 50:50 at best - depends how big North Lanarkshire is, how many streets have similar names, how unique the name of the person is and how many sorting offices there are in the region. It's likely to just find it's way back to you.

That's near me Laughing

I recon it should get there, on saying that I was reading that a guy got a letter he was sending to Scotland returned to him because he had sent it 2nd class (from England) and they returned it saying that they wanted air mail charges...maybe Scotland is getting further and further away from England Rolling Eyes
