Was that £200 as a part exchange for your previous bike, or what you paid all in?

Hmm that seems like a steal.

Woking Yamaha are my local dealer and I've been reasonably happy with them. I assume its a P-EX they wanted out of the way. I noticed the place was a bit overcrowded when I walked out the back to collect the GPZ after its MOT last week.

They seem to flog a lot of scooters these days.

They also have a really limited display area. There is only so much pavement outside.

Many congrats. I hope you enjoy it.

GPZ 500. I'm tempted to get something bigger but fear I would be added to the awful RIP stats we are seeing. Also I'm a short arse with a bad back so low seat and riding position are ideal on the GPZ. Its actually my second Smile The riding position on the CBRs means having to stop evert 20 miles which kind of makes it pointless.

Bit busy for rides these days but maybe.

Let us know how you get on with the new machine.

but nar cheers for the comments, anyone know where i can get a DT back wheel ???

many thanks

Open the throttle 'wide' open for 5 seconds from 50 on a 125 and on a 1000cc bike.

Then see the next corner coming up.

If you want something like GPZ, but with a bit more go however not too stupid, consider the SV650, TRX850, bandit etc etc.

Sounds like you got a decent deal from a dealer Matt Thumbs Up.
Worth checking the bike over generally though, dealer's often slap an MOT on a bike with out even looking at it, it seems.

Yes true but if I have a lunatic machime underneath me I *know* I cannot trust myself not to go for that mad move.

I have a compressed spine and fractured back from a very nasty turning right car incident.

No fault on either side according to the police.

But having that tube dragged out of your lungs does tend to make you a tad more careful.

Three months in bed in a hosptal is also miserable.

So be careful.

With the demise of the GPZ500 there seems little left that meets my needs.

Hmm not quite sure how the quotes got screwed up there.

I just wanted to add that the GPZ 500 really gives me enough power if I push it. The cosmetics are not "that" bad. If you want to ride it like a lunatic you can. Around town you rarely need more than fourth, but if you want to half your MPG and be a streaming loony you can. Sadly our old max limit country roads are being limited speed wise.

But interestingly it has not hit the country lanes yet (much).

And they are far more fun and far more dangerous.

60 past Fairoaks seems quite fast, 120 bonkers but fun.

Chances of getting stopped ? Minimal.

Nice Bike Mate! You cant buy single spokes from yammy dealers, only a full set which cost like £24 or summin!

Or you can use KMX125 spokes which kwaka dealers sell singles of. I got 1 on the front and one on the back wheel of my DT cos i had 2 snapped ones!

WKD price u paid Thumbs Up
