Most sport 1000cc's are quoted at about 2.8/3 second mark isnt it?
With sport 600's about the 3/3.2 seconds.
All probably manufacture claims... ____________________ || Past: 1991 Kawasaki ZXR 250 ~ 2003 Honda CBR 600 F Sport ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1999 Yamaha R1 ~ 1999 Kawasaki ZX6R J ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1998 Honda VTR1000F Firestorm ~ K1 GSXR 600 Track bike ~ K6 GSXR 1000 ~ 2006 Speed Triple 1050 || Current: 2005 R1 https://www.adrucore.co.uk |

I remember a rocket car in Autocar once quoted at
0-60 in 0.32 second
0-100 in 0.38 second! I think that's the record holder... (The driver needed a fighter pilots G-suit to drive it.
Qtr mile was 3.583 seconds 386.26 mph at Santa Pod 08/07/84
It was called Vanishing point... |

Sammy Miller... Hydrogen peroxide powered rocket car. That is still just about the fastest quarter mile run ever, though if top fuel dragsters were allowed to run 4.11 gearing instead of 3.76 they would be in the low 3s. The Veyron does 0-60 in about 2.6-8 seconds, but only runs the quarter mile in around 10.8 seconds. ____________________ Bikes: too many, too much for one man to maintain anyway. |

That Vanishing point car was the oddest thing ever, just a tubular frame with a long bodyshell stretched over the top. It had two tanks in the front, and the motor was in the back. It had a thrust nozzle of about 12 inches, and the motor was tiny, yet produced the equivelant of 25,000 horsepower (in comparison, the car that Hammond was using to get to 300 mph had about 10,000). Thats why it was so fast, it weighed 'nowt.
