What kind of alcoholic madness have people done whilst at Uni. There must be some amazing stories that some people on here have to tell Thumbs Up

Need to give the new freshers on here a target to aim for.

How do you follow that? Get up and order a pizza of course!

I've a bunch of stories, but they would all just scare you!

My brother and his mates sucessfully stole a mooses head from outside the debating hall on the top floor of the Teviot union at Edinburgh Uni and took it on a sightseeing tour of Edinburgh.

It was mounted eight feet above the floor and must be at least six feet between the tips of the antlers. They errected scaffolding, roped it down, then carried it out down six flights of stairs and out of the main doors without being stopped.

It has since been fitted with built-in CCTV.

We once noticed someone had left the window of their fourth floor room at the halls of residence open while they went away for the weekend. A mate abseiled down off the roof, in through the window and opened the door. We filled the room with baloons then he locked the door behind him and abseiled the rest of the way down.

We once had a new bathroom suite put in at the flat. We carried the old one down the stairs at 3am and set it up next to a busy junction in the Meadows, complete with toilet roll holder, mats and newspaper. Traffic chaos ensued.

A local school put up some signs on their front railings advertising their science fair. The signs were individual letters on laminated A4 paper tied on with string. Me and two mates were walking back from the pub past it when I saw it and went "didah. didah. didadida. pow". Countdown conundrum ensued. Mr. Green

Usual stuff really:

We lived on the first of two floors in our student halls. We went upstairs in the early hours, took all their kitchen stuff and took it to the downstairs kitchen, and the same with downstair's stuff.

General gaffa taping of people's doors.

Flat party that lasted 5 days solidly. It was about this time that I realised I needed to do something about my drinking.

One mate managed to swipe a cabbies sign (the massive magnetic ones that sit on the roof) while another of us was paying. A quite impressive trophy.

Best one had nothing to do with us: in the second year we lived in a terraced house, with about 10 other houses either side before you got to any kind of passage way. Somehow one of the other student houses (we still don't know who) fence jumped all the houses with our back garden bench in tow. They then set it up by the front door with tea and toast. We just couldn't figure out how they'd done it!

CRAP!

We had a full set of road works traffic lights including the generator to run them!

Ah, but were said lights and generator taken from under the nose of the owner (or, more specifically, over the head of the owner)? Razz

What? The council?

I suppose, there was CCTV everywhere!

Also, we managed to cover all of Plymouth high street in bubbles. There is a network of fountains and streams that run through the town. Just fill them with washing up liquid and washing powder at night when they are turned off. Next morning it's like Santa's grotto!

We did that to a fountain at uni. My mate had some heavy duty soap concentrate that he filched from work and we added into the fountain at night. Next morning fountain turns on, soap froths up and fills the whole courtyard. It cost teh uni £700 to fix as it buggered the pumps and filters and also killed teh flower beds.

not what we intended but funny none the less!

If anyone is at Plymouth uni, a bit of advice.

Though it may seem funny at the time, swimming naked in Plymouth Hoe at 3am in November IS A BAD IDEA.

And it makes it hard to impress the ladies! Wink

I went on a bucking bronco thingy with a VERY low top and push up bra, boobs fell out and I didnt think too much of it until I realised that the guy working the camera in the tent where the bucking bronco was had zoomed in on it and had it projected onto the BIG screen tv's in the students union Embarassed

Our rugby team stole a fitted carpet from a pub. Just rolled it up and walked out with it under their arms. People even stepped over it as they did so.

Oh, and they stole a four foot high bronze statue of a sphinx from Jekyll and Hydes in Edinburghs new town.

When I was staying in halls, someone pinched the yellow and black security barrier from the front gate as the security guard dozed not four feet away. It was found jammed diagonally across someones room a week later. The security guards were then given these clock things to wear round their necks that they had to 'punch in' at various points round the campus.

Oh yeah, we once had a fire extinguisher fight out in front of the refectory. Landed up in front of some university high hedjun who treated us to a huge lecture about tampering with firefighting equipment and threatning to have us chucked out of Uni.

So keen were they to dispense summary justice, noone stopped to find out where the fire extinguishers came from. They were old ones from a skip that we'd recharged using the garage airline. Boy did he feel like a dick when he finally paused for breath.

I drank a yard of ale in roughly half that time (21.5s).

This is an important skill and will win you the respect of your peers. Beware though, should you vomit down your nose halfway through, you will be met with derision and spend the rest of your time at uni as a social outcast.

Peer respect all the way Thumbs Up .

I used to get free alcohol by betting people the price of a pint that I could drink it in under 4.5 seconds. Can't do it now though, grew a beard and I can't get a good enough seal at the corners of my mouth.

I also bet a guy I could down a pint of Gillespies malt stout in a oner while standing on my head in under 20 seconds. I reckon I'm the only person he ever bought a drink for.

Tried filling a Coke bottle with a lighter refill and igniting it. Was going fine until one of the roommates managed to knock it over, and almost set the curtains on fire.

One night/morning on the way back from a night club I happened to mention that I was thirsty, and got thrown off a footbridge into the river... a cold and frosty 3am in February Shocked

Got my own back though, cos one of the guys involved in the bridge incident lost a bet later the same week, and his forfeit was to run round the campus in just his skiddies... in the snow... and we bolted the doors behind him so he couldn't get back in. I still have a pic somewhere with his trying to climb thru an open window Very Happy

Probably more stuff that I can't even remember, cos my alcohol intake at the time was excessive to say the least Sick

Some mates, turfed a room and put a sheep in it.

When the Poly became a Uni, they got a nice new big sign, this sign went missing one night. My mate Jim, was a boring git when sober total IT nerd, but give the guy beer and what a guy. He used to take a portable ratchet set out with him.

Obviously normal stuff like traffic cones, flashing lights etc.

Ordering multiple taxis for the hotel accross the road all for the same time.

My mate Norts bender was the worst, drinking solidy for a week, had to stop when he was pissing blood.

Mate had to be stomache pumped that sort of stuff.

As pathetic as it sounds, getting 5 up on a Sym Jet 50 was the most impressive thing I remember (that thing still did 35 on the speedo! Shocked ). We got a bollocking from the Uni security who were self-important cretins if ever anyone was. Shocked

There was also peeing on cricket pitches, sleeping in building sites, running into things(a wall, to wake up with a bed covered in bloodstains), through hedges, falling over walking on the flat(I thought I was walking up hill Shifty), far, far too much vomiting into bins, out of taxis and downing teacups of vodka while in competition with Russians (they were suitably shocked). Laughing

The content of some unfortunate person's room ended up on the football pitch outside our halls once too, bed, mattress, chairs and all. The uni fountain had a load of washing powder dumped in it on more than one occasion and redecoration using bog rolls wasn't uncommon. Forcible shaving of Hall Committee heads wasn't uncommon either. Laughing

My idiot mate jumped out of a 4th floor window of our halls using a windsurfing sale as a parachute.

Needless to say it didnt work. Laughing

We also used to have a game with our porter every now and then. We would distract him by doing something/loud/silly/rude and one of us would climb in through the canteen window and steal his sandwhiches/thermos. Laughing

quite a resume u got there Razz on the subject of wrecking peoples flats/rooms, someone from my halls from down south hates the block next door to ours, for the simple reason that they never come outta their rooms or tlak to anyone and its why one of my housemates moved outta there to live in ours. Anyway him and a group of other went in there once when i was away (cos my housemate still had the key) and turned all the furniture upside down (im pretty sure this involved ceral boxes and stuff also) then a few days later we all went back and did it again then went to our block next door.... got bored and decided to put all their stools on top of their cupboards and steal their kettle power lead (which one of us then smashed off the floor) since then theres been a numbere of incidents including one of the bedroom windows being garlic sauced, the living room window having kebab meat threw in it as well as curdled milk over the window and the guy from down south once stuck his fingers down his throat when he was drunk and puked all over their doorstep. Oh! we also tried to post about 100 leaflets through their door and living room window, but the wind caught em and they just fell on the floor outside Razz The guy from down south swears that he's gonna sh*t through their letterbox before the end of this year Very Happy ahhh fun times
