You mean the ones that are moulded as part of the fairing, not separate parts?

If so how would anyone have any spare? It's like asking if anyone has any spare tyre tread for sale.

Yes, the ones that are welded on the Fairing.

Well, you would be suprised what people have, their own fairing lugs may have snapped off, and they may have decided to keep them just in case.

You think how many people have taken their fairing's off, then clipped it back on then the lugs snap off!!

Or even where i could get them from.

Simple question really!!!!

the only way to repair is to drill a 4mm hole where it's broken (file it to make it flat) then countersink at 8mm , use a self-taping screw then adapt a plastic bit (a big plain rawl plug will do) try to make strips on it , put some araldite slow and screw together . a touch of paint on the screw head and that's it . i've done that twice on mine

gt plastex uk do a plastic repair kit think they start at about £10 they do mail order their telephone number is 0115 8757490. they also trade on ebay but cant remember their trading name. The kit comes with something you can make into a mould using one of you exising lugs. Its a fantastic kit have used it on a 5 inch crack on my top fairing and its bonded this. the kit can be used for loads of plastic repairs including replacing broken lugs, comes with a cd rom demonstrating how to use it will try and find their web address and post it for you Thumbs Up

I've never tried the plastex stuff, but I can tell you that it's almost impossible to glue the lugs back on in a way that they stay on. You have a very small surface area to work with, and it's under a lot of stress/vibration. Any repairs tend to snap after a few weeks.

Doing what alains says or melting them back on seems to be the only reliable method.

Problem is Alain, i dont have the lug, it was like it when i bought it.

Just bought some plastic stuff on ebay.

normally yes its difficult to glue lugs back on but the plastex stuff is realy good, i saw it tested on men & motors about 10 years ago. The guy on there broke a lug off. made a replacement with the kit and attached it back on. He then hit the side of the new lug a few times with a hammer. The pannel cracked but the lug was intact. I wouldnt reccomend something that doesnt work. If somethings not any good for the job I will say so, but this stuff is really good better than any glue, you can even use it as a filler.

Hi

I have done a bit of a bodge fix by using fibreglass filler to hold a short bolt to the inside of the panel, and built up the head of the bolt a bit more with the filler as well. Has held for years.

All the best

Keith
