No not as in talking, I don't have a lithp or anything. I am going to be best man at my best mates wedding and for some reason the thought of doing a speech after is chewing me up. I've never had to do one before and I don't have a tube of glue where to start.
Can anyone give me any advice?

Arrow How long do I make it?
Arrow Things to mention
Arrow How to start

you get the idea.

Any help greatly appreciated Thumbs Up

Make it about 4/5 minutes
No-one likes a long drawn-out epilogue Surprised

Start with how you met your mate..funny stuff you used to do
Then say some nice things about his bird
Say how happy you are for them. ("This is such an emotional day, even the cake is in tears") You know the cheesey stuff
Do a google for some funny cheese
EVERYONE loves the groany stuff at weddings

Read out a few of the cards
Finish off with an emotional, sincere "I am so happy for the both of you. I hope you have a long and wonderful life together"
Make the old 'uns cry. They will like you then

Jobs a good 'un

All best men want their speech to be funny as hell. it's usually drunken ramblings about strippers and stuff Laughing

Dont make it to long, it gets boring if your crap at speeches.
talk about you good times with the groom, make a funny and try to make it about something he did .

Grab a big bunch of the wedding cards and read a few out, if you notice any by good m8'ts of you and the groom then make anotrher funny, sdont forget your not telling a joke but making a funny about them ie "this a really cheap card i wonder who sent this?"

and round it up with the usual soppy stuff about how happy they will be blah blah and thank every body for turning up etc etc

have a quick short before you get up it elps to take your mind off what your doing.

AND NEVER NEVER WATCH YOURSELF BACK LATER ON THE WEDDING VIDEO Sick Sick

I HAVE DONE THIS AND TBH THE VIDEO IS MORE EMMBARASING THAN THE DAY ITS SELF.

hope it goes ok for you.

so I took it upon myself to check (grooms name) post. I need to tell (grooms name) that the carpet people cannot supply your carpet this weekend, but you will get your underfelt tonight!
Embarassed sorry

This is a good section:-

Structure of the speech:

Best man speech
You start by thanking the groom for asking you to be his best man.

- You tell a few funny stories about the Groom
- If you know the bride, you may be able to tell a few anecdotes about the bride (be extra careful about this)
- You have the option to read out a couple of cards from people who were not able to attend (be brief on this as it can be a bit boring for the audience)
- If you like you could propose a final toast to the bride and groom - wishing them happiness in their life together.

If there is no master of ceremonies you will need to introduce the next item - cutting of the cake - or thank the audience and invite them to carry on with enjoying themselves.
