Tzr50 exhaust problem

hi there guys i have just brought a yamaha tzr 50. i also brought an arrow exhaust system for my bike. when i took the original exhaust off i had a pipe connected to it just under the manifold but on my new arrow exhaust there is not inlet/outlet for this pipe is this pipe important ? since i have fitted the exhaust i have also lost power in my bike would this have something to do with that pipe or would i need some other work done to sort this problem out?

please reply if you can shed some light on my problem
