Roads which challenge yet Scare you?

So what roads challenge and scare you at the same time? , Off snake pass there is this B road called Strines Moor , that road was challenging and scary, tons of road kill , suicidal birds scared by my engine , which my head hit a few. Sandy/muddy corners , hairpin bends which need going into 1st or 2nd and the road is barely wide enough for 1.25 cars and you get lorries barrelling down there.

Lots of hikers walking far out into the road oblivious that it is a road , Isolated far from anywhere so if you crash nobody will find you and 0 bars on cell phone coverage.

And to boot its as bumpy as fuck yet still NSL with a couple of random riders belting along there.

and on a cold day nowhere safe to stop and take a whizz other than the first 1/3 mile off snake pass so this preys on your mind too to boot.

The slock road on the IoM, very bumpy with loads of twisties and no barriers with some huge drops, just wide enough for cars to pass, it has fantastic views and the drop down into the south of the island is twisty and steep, exhilerating road but the combination of bumps, bends, loose material and oncoming traffic certainly keep your adrenalin pumping, oh and its a derestricted speed limit so the speed limitation is down to your own ability

Sheikh Zayed Road...there's about 15 crashes on it a day...i'm not even close to exaggerating!

One road i sometimes use to get to work. Last week my foot slipped off the peg halfway round and i managed to wobble my way round while half falling off the bike.
2 nights later the police were recovering the ramains of a bike from the hedge at the same spot. Rider was ok tho, was trying to look at the bike as it came out.

The A4069 "black mountain" road from Brynamman to Llangadog in south wales its like riding an angry snake (in a non sexual way of course). Nice hairpin, and the corner on the mini bridge is great if nothing's coming the other way

Road's with bad cambre on bends, or with vehicles on the wrong side of the road coming towards you...huge piles of gravel round corners, oh and double manhole covers on roundabouts.

They can be pretty scarey things to contend with....if caught unawares.

Itchy, you are quite correct in the fact that ANYBODY caught tampering with a road surface in order to endanger life will be arrested / maybe charged with an attempt murder.

I made my first mistake on the ZX7 at cheddar gorge, thought i entered the bend correctly, then i was on the other side of the road.
As i tried to bank back up there was a small dirt mound that had been created by cars on the white lines, the front tyre slid and i pretty much froze up. The missus was on the back, if i had been going slower i would have met the 206 coming the other way at the same time.

A road that has claimed many cars is the infamous 'Seven bends' from Gotherington to Tewkesbury.
