PostPosted: 10:37 - 03 Oct 2006    Post subject: F**KING BUSES!!!! Reply with quote

i hate them, i f**king hate them. the past few days i've been using the bus to get around as the weather up here has been pretty sh!t and today i got the bus to work because the forecast was for heavy rain. It usually takes about 45mins to get to work on the bus and 10mins on the bike but today it took nearly an hour and i was already late for work, we got to the city centre and some twat property developer has got 3 streets closed off so all the traffic is going up one street and it takes fooking ages to get through the traffic lights, you get about 1 car through the lights at a time. This is when i lost it and got down to the drivers window and asked to be let off here, he said no much to the annoyance of me and the others wanting off so i pushed the emergency open door button but it didn't work Confused (health and safety anyone?) so i tried to force the fucker and it didn't open either then the we started having a go at each other, finally got off at the stop but 20mins later for work Evil or Very Mad and to top it off now their is clear blue skies as far as the eye can see Laughing so i'm taking the bike to work now and i don't give a f**k how the weather is.

I know i shouldn't have had a go at the driver as the traffic has nowt to do with him but he could have taken an alternative street and got to the same bus stop quicker and he could have let us off as we were sitting stationary with the kerb at the door

anyone else lost their cool on public transport? or had similar experiances

Nah not lost my cool but that's generally because I avoid it like the plague, alternative form of transport bollocks.

I'm afraid the government will be kissing my arse for a LONG time when it comes to getting me to use public transport.

Would not take the bus for anything, i its raining so what i take the bike, anything to avoid the stupid bus! nothing worse than sitting in a stupid bus with people in traffic, it freaks me out completly. I dont trust others driving anyway so i get my own transport. Rain or not. Get some waterproofs.

I hate the buses that much that the last time it was heavy snow and ice I still rode my bike to and from work. I just kept it in 2nd gear with both feet on the floor as stabilizers and went not much above 10mph. Scary as fook but much better than catching the bus with the poor people. Some car drivers at the place I worked took over 4hrs 30mins to get home in that snow. It still only took me 30mins. Very Happy

I may consider using public transport when the following is implemented.

1, It comes when I want it to
2, It picks me up from my front door
3, It drops me off where I want
4, I get my own private cubicle and don't come into contact with anyone else.
5, It operates 24/7

Then it's still only a maybe.

Me. At the cnut of a bus driver who pulled up at a bus stop where no-one got off or on while he phoned his missus to discuss what he wanted for dinner that night.

I quietly suggested that if he didn't get the fecking bus moving sharpish, dinner would consist of soup through a straw at the local A&E...

years and years ago this Indian Bus driver in Bury crammed 100s of people onto this bus , it was already full to the rafters full seats upstairs and down , stood full , but the driver kept packing in more people using a 2nd ticket machine to pocket the money,

a few others:

this bus driver who'd stop pop into a pub for a couple of pints and get back on the bus,

another guy who refused to give you a ticket and would pocket the fair

being mugged on a bus by a bloke with a knife,

lots more , if I was ever banned I'd use a push bike I'd probably get there faster to boot (ham hock man who rides a push bike is nearly as fast as me sometimes).

I get the bus every day.
It takes an hour and then some to get from my town to my college, and there are only two (8.45, which arrives at 9 usually, and 4:30 - which usually arrives around 5 if at all) that go straight to/from the college; otherwise I have to walk for half an hour to the nearest bus stop.

I always end up behind some chav who has his music on so loud that you can hear the stupid cymbal/cheap synth mix from upstairs.

There are always at least three girls who insist on giggling loudly and/or squealing to one another at the top of their shrill voices.

Grimsby is horrendous.

I don't bike because I don't particularly enjoy doing 32 miles on de-restricted A road, most of which is either really twisty (read: splattered with mud and farm crap) or long and open (read: full of tailgaters, chavs in novas and gravel all over the road). Oh, and I get free bus travel.

Speaking of which, the roundabout into my town has huge pieces of gravel all over it; I can't believe nobody's come off on it yet.

The trigger for me taking my CBT and getting on the roads was the experience of 3 weeks travelling to the training for my current job by the 140 bus.

I had to allow almost 3 hours for a journey that takes me between 30-40 mins in heavy traffic. I start some shifts at around 7am, and some of them last for up to 13-14hrs, so adding 5 hours onto my working day was not really practical.

I hated the stench, the heat, the noise, the tiny uncomfortable seats that aren't big enough for 12yr old pygmies, let alone over 6' of tired and irritable Mr James. Apart from my MD player, the only entertainment to be had was guessing whether it would a smelly sikh builder who sat next to me, or a weird somalian nutcase.

The final straw was when some very young kids from a private school came up onto the top deck and (very politely) asked 2 adults on seperate seats if they would move together so that the 3 kids could sit on one seat. The adults reluctantly complied, but a group of 14-16yr old black/asian kids on the back seat started taking the piss, which the posh kids bravely ignored. Emboldened by the fact that all the adults were pretending not to notice, the scrotes stood up, surrounded the toffs (none older than 12, one about 7-8!) and started the age-old process leading up to a mugging - asking what money they had, if they had a phone, etc.

After a long day, I took comfort in the fact that all these 'real' adults would soon sort this shit out, but when I turned around, they were all frantically burying themselves in papers and books so that they didn't have to intervene. I was disgusted, and a little bit scared, tbh! I guess that's the point where I finally realised that this city is a big pile of criminal/cowardly wank.

Suffice to say I intervened and myself and a couple of the proto-muggers had a frank exchange of opinions - but I decided I couldn't be dealing with this level of crap every day, and stopped off at the Yamaha dealer on the way home.

Nearly 3 years, thousands of pounds, a broken pelvis and a lot of fun later, I suppose some good came of it all, but it cemented my opinion that public transport is for animals and peasants.

Well as i drive a bus for a living i feel i should answer this one, i don't care what any of you say so bring it on!!!!!

Did you even think that he wouldn't open the door because hes not aloud too?

Do you think we do it for fun?

We are not aloud to open the doors anywhere other then bus stops for your safety, when you board a bus we are responsible for your safety, plus if we open the doors and you fall over as you get off, you can then get comp from the bus company and the driver could lose his job!!

As for taking a different route then the one posted again if anything happens we are responsible and again could lose our jobs.

Lets put it this way, if a train sits just outside the station for some reason do you pull the lever and ask the driver to let you off as its closer to where you wanna go?

Think about what we have to go through day in and day out with pricks like you all day, moaning because we inadvertantly have to sit in traffic, moaning because you have had to wait a few extra minutes for a bus.

IF YOUR GONNA BE LATE WHY DIDN'T YOU GET UP EARLIER?

And for those people that get on and say 'why have i been waiting here for 30mins?' my answer normaly is 'because your a morron!'
Hopefully i have just got through to some of you, if not who cares?

I don't like weeklies ether tie you in.

I hate public transport but unfortunately my bike is off the road waiting on an MOT Crying or Very sad so I have no choice, it's horrible I finish work at 10pm and don't get home until 11.30pm, my house is only 20 minutes away with any other form of transport Rolling Eyes

I have this massive pet hate on busses/trains and that is people sitting next to me, I am sooo anti-social it makes me cringe and I really do just want to hit the person that has sat next to me I'm not a violent person so I don't understand why
