.....in the whole of the UK now, and it's D&K. Shocked

I have found one other dealer who is importing them but he sold his last 2006 model last week and now only has the 2007. Not a major problem you might think, except it's £300 more.......... Sad

I am reluctant to give D&K my hard-earned in view of what I know about them, but not to is going to cost me an amount that will pay for well over a years insurance.

I have to admit that all the horror stories I've heard about D&K have related to their used stock not their new bikes but even so...... Confused Limited time to decide as last time I checked they only had 3 of the 2006 bikes left in stock at the 2006 price - once they've got they will be onto the 2007s at the new price too.

I can afford it now. It's available now. It's at least a years insurance if I don't buy it now.

What would you do?

Hi

Are you really that desperate? Have a hunt round for the tales of people having things that they agreed in the purchase being forgotten about at delivery (and headlights dipping the wrong way).

What bike is it you fancy?

All the best

Keith

Not desperate exactly no, but I have kind of set my heart on owning one. Was planning to get it around March/April (seems a bit daft to buy it now when it will pretty much live in the shed for the next 6 months) but I wasn't expecting there to be quite such a huge price hike between the 2006 and 2007 models. Sad

It's a Suzuki Boulevard S50 (the US version of the Intruder, nowhere near as lardy as the UK model) so being an import I suppose the headlight could well turn out to be an issue?

id go to the other dealer and explain id rather buy from them, but that they are charging 300 quid more....if you cant get the 300 quid off, perhaps they will meet you halfway ...at say 150.

plus you get the newer model bike.

Hi

Headlight might well be an issue, but think a fair few US vehicles have headlights that just dip down rather than to one side.

Prices are likely to drop further over winter anyway.

All the best

Keith

Don't do it Jo!

I assume you've heard that they don't change headlights to uk spec when they import the bikes and I've heard that their '04 ZX10's were dodgy as well but couldn't get full details on why. Personally for £300 I wouldn't risk it but it's up to you.

Oh and I'll never speak to you again and may well push a member of your staff down the stairs if you do buy from DK. Wink

Pay the extra. But not before you've been to D&K and told them you want it from them, get everything sorted (without parting with any cash) arrange a delivery date and tell them you're paying cash.

Then phone them at the last minute and tell them to cancel it after you discovered one or two sleazy skeletons in their closet, and how your conscience wouldn't let you deal with such a disreputable company...

Thumbs Up Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Embarassed I know. Back to Plan A I think and get one in March/April.

Makes sense cos I won't have a brand new bike that hasn't been run in properly rotting in the garage all winter, the prices may well drop again by then anyway, even if they don't I'll have put aside the extra cash and then some by then and you never know there might be another dealer importing them by then anyway which means more bargaining power.

Woulda been nice to have it straight away though........... Smile

You get the other dealer to meet you half way at £150 and i'll give you £100 not to go to D&K, you'll need to find a nifty.

You know it makes sense NOT to trade with the Muppet show. Confused

I agree with Siggi on this one (well, it had to happen sooner or later Mr. Green ). WHy are the British public so bloody wet when it comes to being ripped off or being given appalling customer service?

If we learnt to complain, we might not be living in a country where petrol is £1 a litre and the average working man pays out 85% of his wages a year in tax.

DK deserve to sink to the bottom of the rat infested shithole that they crawled out of, until we stop using companies who rely on dodgy dealing and shortcuts to survive, we will all get the service we deserve.

I wouldn't use DK if they were the last bike dealer on the planet, even if they were the only ones who had the bike I wanted.

Cheers

Grim

Don't do it!

Go to DK ask them about the bike and then go "Thanks for the info, I'll go to a rival and buy the bike there, kthxbye."
