bloody hell not again!!

I came of yesterday round a corner in the wet on one of those so-called red gripped surfaces they put on round the corner lol. oh well! 3rd of in my first year, shit happens. my bikes fine as normal (non fairing ) but ive ground my knee down 2 the bone and a couple of road marks here and there but im fine , which is good....bike test on tues wooooo! bandit here we cme lol.

You might want to learn not to crash before you take your test. Oh and buy some bloody armour, you'll find that injuries come back to haunt you as you get older.

Another advert for wearing all your kit, no matter how short the journey then I've ridden in jeans, I reckon we all have but I don't anymore, armoured textiles at least and normally leather if it's not pissing down.

I'd certainly attest to that , injuries may well heal pretty quick but when you get older it'll come haunt you,

Armour helps , but if you have a really fast off and it still hurts go see a Chinese 'Teep Dah' healer , who will beat the shit outta your wound but lessen the chance of it coming back to haunt you.

Or some pysio work , don't want to end up like some of our courier BCFers

My right knee has been treated twice , no lingering pain if it gets cold , my left knee was never treated after an off , it hurts when it gets cold.

EDIT - Do as I say not as I do ! , as many folks will realise I don't wear my gear all the time.

Indeed wear your gear, im 20 year old and my injuries from when i had a big accident when was 16 give me jip all the time.

So even when going round the corner wear all your gear. Most accidents happen on the roads you know well.

I used to ride in jeans and a leather jacket.

After my spill I never ride without my trousers on. 30 seconds to put my trousers over my jeans could save me (and you) years of pain.

Nothing wrong with wearing your leathers etc, but they wont stop you falling off and once you're off you've no control over the next few seconds. Learning to think and plan are far better defences than leather and armour.

Saying that, I wear full leathers, armour, back protector, Arai (it's a good fit, not just a label) most of the time, have been known to wear jeans though even this year, I just make sure my brain is fully engaged before pulling the clutch in

I can say the only time's i've ever worn jeans on a bike was for my 1 mile trip to school, but then that was still jacket for zip together 2 piece, back protector, lid, gloves and boots.

If leathers are 2 much of a faff for "round the corner" why not get some draggin' jeans?? They are like normal jeans but have kevlar in the impact areas (Arse, knees etc.)
