hi i know its a silly question but i cant work it out lol does anyone know how the strap in the pics attaches so theres etnsion against the battery to hold it in as when i put it on its slack as hell and theres this brown rusty pin thing attached to the strap you can see it in the pics has anyone got an idea where this goes as i think thats got to go somewhere to tension it lol any help much appreciated thanks

OH YEAH THE BIKE IS a 92 dtr 125

I think I've seen a strap like that before - the brown rusty pin is the bit that's supposed to be hooked onto the bike - problem is, the bottom bit has snapped off, there should be as much pin extending from the bottom of the strap as there is from the top.

The hooks for the pin will be around the back of the battery, then all the strap to the left of the pin is to hold in the tool bag (I think - that thing to the left of the battery?). When you want to remove the tool bag or battery, you unhook the buckles on the two ends of the strap, the rusty pin stays in it's attachment.

hi thanks there is bout same lengh of pin underneath as well you just cant tell from the pic any ideas where abouts it goes? cheers

it goes in that stepped slot in the backplate for the battery- push the pin in to the longest part (to the left) and then slide it to the right. Note it won't work if the pin HAS snapped ;0, which it has!

Any wire that is stiff enough to hold its shape will be fine, so welding rod or a bit of coat hanger would be ok.

i had the extact same problem, i made mine from some galv fence wire, was going to nick some tig wire from college but forgot Smile
