Chicken strips

Now i have heard this term quite a lot but not being in a biking circuit and just enjoying my weekend jaunts out i have failed (miserably) to grab the concept of chicken strips.

**pauses and waits for you all to pick yourself up from the floor and catch your breath after laughing so hard**

I presume people are talking about the 'blueing' of the tyre edge?

Whats 'good' bigger blue bit or smaller one?

Hey if you dont know just ask is what my dad says.Of course he never warned me people would rib me til the day i die about stupid questions......

the chicken strip is the bit of unused tyre because you havent leant the bike all the way over

nutter wisdom is that you arent a proper bike unless you lean your bike over all the way quite often

i think you are safer if you dont lean the bike over all the way

although mostly i am just jealous that i cant do it

Its how much of the tyre is unused and therefore indicates excessive lean angles. Supposed to be the smaller the better. Doesn't seem to bother the majority of people who use their bikes regulary as opposed to those that only take them out on sunny weekends.

The really obsessive will use a belt sander, or similar, to remove all evidence, usually at the same time that they attack their knee sliders.

Just to clarify...

The un-used "Strip" around the edge of your tyre is known as a "Chicken Strip".

As in...

You are Chicken if you haven't ridden off the edge of your tyres.

The bigger they are the safer rider you are.

We've a lady rider in our club who refers to them as "chicken fillets"...all the blokes don't get the joke but all the ladies do, I feel sure we're missing something

Chicken strip are what has been explained by Pte1643. For you other guys that don't know what chicken fillets are, they are used by women to put in their bra to give the illusion of bigger breasts. If said items were layed in front of you they resemble actual chicken fillets or chicken breasts that have been removed from the carcas. This thread has prompted me to start my own.

The thinner your chicken strips are the smaller your penis is as your not leaning off the bike enough.

Its just an ego thing, it doesn't mean you are faster/safer rider.

Chicken strips are a crap indicator anyway. I can KD, but have a couple of mm left on both sides.

Some of my mates can't KD, but have no space left on the tyre at all.

(No I don't hang off like a gibbon)
