coping with Glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis)

Hey well basically i just started my new job, i go to college on monday then work the rest of the week, i recently got ( look at name ) and ive been falling asleep at college and work ect, in 2 weeks time i have to go to a training course down birminham, does anyone have any advice on how to reduce the pain, my throat has closed up to about a 1 cm gap. Sick

I hope yu have been to the docs and you have something,. pain killers,anti biotics, try them trozettes i am on them and they have anti biotic in them and seem to be helping my troat.

did you get the zinc yet?

When I had it, I was completely bed ridden for about 6 weeks. My throat swelled up so much I could only sip fluids, my armpits, behind my knees and down below also swelled to a degree. I lost weight and my skin went scaley...

And a girl at school told my friends that I had been taken off to live in a kids home (thats why I had no visitors)....hmmm kids are so lovely!

Ive had it about 3 times since too. Not good!

I was hospitalised with it and was basically fooked for about 2 months. Your supposed to get 3 attacks of it varying in severity before it sods off for good. Expect worse to come if thats all you suffering with ATM.

Antibiotics wont help as GF is caused by a viral infection.
You may not have gf, the blood tests will check to see if you have the antibodies to EBV the virus that causes GF. If you need anymore info let me know (GF testing is one of my jobs at work.)

I had/have it, it recurs so theres little you can really do.
Best thing is painkillers, hot drinks and throat sweets. Cold drinks and ice cream make it worse.
Sometimes its a nightmare just getting out of bed cos you feel so bad, try and make it through but if you feel rough then just have a day off, nothings worth jeopardising your health for.
