i'm curious as to what these are........
take for instance the H11 bulb for the headlight of my hornet,
55 watts and with a blue tint on the glass apparently to stop the yellow of the light from being produced in the beam.
however these bulbs are cheaper yet give out more light.
they have some xenon gas in their mixture that causes this increase in output yet they use the same amount of power.
if this is the case why are they cheaper than, say a standard halogen which is twice the cost?
anyone have experience of these cheap but seemingly superior bulbs?

i know the philips ones run twice as long but apparently they aren't as bright |

Dude, I wouldnt bother with any bulb other than osram or phillips. Those cheapo ones seem to always have a naff cut off, giving a crap beam pattern ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |

ok so what about the real deal xenons, H.I.D systems,
https://www.hids4u.co.uk/products.asp?cat=13
i know they are astronomical in price but if they give you 3 times more light than a 55 watt halogen can and last longer with less power drain (35watts) are they worth getting for the winter?
not that i could really afford it right now |
