Decisions Desicions - Sell or PX my bike

I am at a point now where I cannot make my mind up about my bike. I have been to several dealers looking at bikes and have seen some lovely machines, mainly ZX6R's, so I think the time has come to change my trusty ZZR600 for something a bit newer.

Now the question is do I PX the bike at the dealers or sell it privately. Selling it might be a good idea given the time of year as it will be going for about £700 which would suit someone wanting it for a cheap winter bike. I have however been offered £600 trade in which might be the easier option.

As I have never traded anything in before what do you guys/gals reckon.

Look at what they offer - if that £600 is against a bike you could get privately for £500 less anyway, it's not really that great a deal.

I have checked around at the prices involved and although the dealer is obviously more expensive than a private sale, the bikes I have looked at privately have not been as good condition as the dealer stock.

Do check over the bikes - I've seen plenty of dealer bikes that look good because they've been given a good clean, but underneath are still dogs. Seems you can polish a turd.

I am a car mechanic/MOT tester mate, so luckilly I know what I am looking at.
I have seen enoungh polished turds to last me a lifetime
