Whats a variator and how do I get it off/get restrictor off?

Hi,

I am gonna de restrict my friends new Yam Aerox scooter (sorry for posting another scooter de restriction thread!! )

I know what I've gotta do except for removing the washer in the variator.

I need to know:

Where variator is (Its part of the final drive?)

How to get it off (Do I need a special tool - impact wrench?)

Is there a gasket I'll be needing to replace??

What tools are needed?

Anything else I need to know?
